It’s National Intern Day, and we’re celebrating our #Legendary interns, Zoee Stencil and Paisley Larson! At Legend Management Group, we believe in investing in future leaders and creating space for growth, learning, and real-world experience. Since June, Zoee and Paisley have worked closely with both our corporate and onsite teams, gaining hands-on insight into the world of multifamily! Please join us in congratulating Collin McLaurin on his graduation from HCPS's Apprentice Program. Collin started working for us at The Elms at Kendall Ridge as their Service Technician Apprentice in August 2024 while completing his Senior year at Long Reach High School. He has successfully completed the required 450 hours of apprenticeship with us at Legend and HCPS has sponsored Collin in taking the CAMT which he completed last week. Collin was recognized last week at HCPS's Apprentice Graduation event and we are so proud of him! Congratulations again, Collin! You are truly #Legendary! We brought the energy to the BlackRock Center for the Arts for this year’s Spring All Hands Meeting, where the theme Mindset Matters set the tone for the day, focused on growth, connection, and team spirit. With the Washington Capitals in the playoffs, we challenged our teams to Rock the Red, and they delivered. From Caps jerseys to branded merch and bold red outfits, the room was full of energy. But this wasn’t just about hockey. It was about the teamwork, resilience, and mindset that drive success. Just like the Caps, we know how to rally, adapt, and lead with heart. We were honored to welcome two amazing guest speakers. Nadine Harris from The Salvation Army reminded us of the importance of giving back and how volunteerism strengthens our impact both inside and outside of work. Then, to finish the day, Lia Nichole Smith, VP of Education and Performance for SatisFacts & ApartmentRatings, shared practical ways we can strengthen the resident experience through intentional communication and mindset. We switched things up this year by launching the Legend Career Apparel Closet. Team members donated professional clothing, shoes, and accessories, and were able to shop the collection during the meeting. The remaining items were donated to Women Giving Back, Inc., a local organization helping women and children in crisis. Of course, it wouldn’t be a #Legendary gathering if we didn’t take the time to celebrate the people who make Legend so special! From announcing the winner of the Mindset Matters logo contest, to highlighting this year’s class of LEADS graduates, to showcasing our creative team videos, there was no shortage of excellence. Karen Trueman, CPM and Lauren Hall, CPM had the pleasure of attending the Virginia Tech Property Management Advisory Board Meeting this past week. During their time on campus, they had the pleasure of speaking at their Marketing and Leasing class, Introduction to Property Management, and Field Study class focusing on internships in Property Management. What a great opportunity to connect with students and discuss trends in Multifamily Leasing and Trade Association Involvement in Property Management. During their visit, they also spent some time with our three new hires: Jack Piazza, CAM (Roving APM), Paisley Larson and Zoee Stencil (Summer Interns). We are so excited to have them join our team this Summer! Karen and Lauren also paid Zoee a special visit to watch her play in the Hokie's Women’s Lacrosse game against Coastal Carolina.  She is an amazing athlete and they won the game! What a great experience we had this past week! Thank you to Kelly Avery and Virginia Tech Department of Apparel, Housing, and Resource Management for hosting us!

Our team had an incredible time at PMEXPO 2025 hosted by the Property Management Association. From insightful seminars to engaging with industry experts, it was a fantastic opportunity to learn and network while having fun at the fair! The sessions provided us with valuable insights on everything from emergency preparedness to leadership to enhancing resident experiences, all things we’re excited to implement as we continue to Embrace Change & Innovation this year! It was also a pleasure reconnecting with some friendly faces from our valued industry partners like EcoTek Power Wash, Minkoff Co Inc, Toepfer Construction Co., Inc., InterSolutions, LLC,Hawkins Electric Service, Inc., American Pest, and more. We’re looking forward to continuing to strengthen these relationships. As we uphold our Mindset Matters theme for 2025, we’re focused on exploring new possibilities, overcoming challenges, and supporting each other’s growth.
