End Child Trafficking & Exploitation
About us
Our vision is the end of child trafficking and exploitation. Nothing less. Founded in 2002, Love146 is an international human rights organization that journeys alongside children impacted by trafficking today, and prevents the trafficking of children tomorrow. The trafficking of children will end when our collective expectations of what is possible, what is just, and what is effective have been reoriented. We believe that making the world a safe place for children is only possible through a bold, broad vision that cannot be achieved by only one organization or approach. At Love146, we connect the dots to understand how vulnerability operates in the lives of children, and intervene both to care for survivors who have been harmed and ultimately to prevent harm from happening in the first place. Our work is achieved through the power of relationships and collaboration, listening to those with lived experience and diverse backgrounds, scaling proven practices, and challenging the systems that leave children vulnerable. Our core commitment is to do what is best for children. We join courageous young survivors in the fight to end trafficking. They teach us that it takes love. Love opens our eyes, love gives us the courage to pursue justice, and love continually reminds us to be more human. Why is the organization named “Love146”? *Angelica was 7 years old when she was removed from a situation of online sexual exploitation and physical abuse, which were exposed when the foreign perpetrator was caught abroad. When pressed by law enforcement, she didn’t feel she could talk about what happened to her. It was when Love146 engaged Angelica in supportive counseling in the context of holistic care at The Round Home that she shared the extent of abuse and exploitation she had suffered. She later said that coming to Love146 was her first experience of being happy and not being hurt. Today, Angelica is studying ballet and violin. (*The name Angelica is a pseudonym)

Part of caring for survivors of child trafficking is helping them build real independence: financial literacy, job skills, and the confidence to make goals and achieve them, so that they never have to rely on someone who would exploit them again. This is just part of what we do at Love146 as we work towards seeing a generation free from trafficking. Here’s one meaningful text message we received from a youth in our care, when last school year began. ❤️ Note: For their safety and privacy, we don’t share identifiable images or videos of the youth in our care. #endchildtrafficking #humanrights #education #endtrafficking #publichealth #youthservices #youthemployment #healing #abuserecovery

21 educators and professionals from Milwaukee Public Schools just became certified to deliver Not a Number, Love146’s prevention curriculum for youth. That means 21 new facilitators are now equipped to lead conversations with students about safety, exploitation, and navigating complex relationships—with honesty, empathy, and skill. This training is part of a multi-year partnership expanding prevention education across MPS. We’re honored to walk alongside Milwaukee in creating safer, more informed school communities. 💪 Huge thanks to our trainer, Fatime Rexhepi, for leading this effort—and to everyone stepping up to protect and empower youth. Safety is not just the absence of danger. It is the presence of people who care enough to notice when something isn't right. Read this reflection from our CEO, Glaydon de Freitas Filho: https://lnkd.in/eDPK7c_E

After 20 years in human rights work, I’ve learned that trafficking doesn’t only emerge from darkness: it emerges from everything we choose not to see. I wrote this reflection on what it really means to protect human dignity in a world that forgets it too easily. If you’re willing to sit with hard questions, I invite you to read.
