The future of manufacturing; available today at Machina; is not only high mix and high volume with robotics and AI. It’s quieter. Our robots peak at the noise of a coffee shop, while a traditional stamping plant hits like a thunderclap or a front row rock concert. That means factories no longer need to be pushed out to the desert. Imagine a multi story workshop in Manhattan shaping sheet metal right where it’s needed, blending into the city soundscape more than your local latte machine.

Can American industry move fast enough to matter? In a new piece for War on the Rocks, our own John Borrego, SVP of Aerospace & Defense at Machina Labs, explores the hard truth behind the Golden Dome missile defense initiative: Bold strategy isn’t enough – it has to be matched by industrial capability. “The gap between defense policy and industrial readiness is no longer a future risk – it’s a present liability.” At Machina Labs, we’re helping close that gap with software-defined, AI-enabled manufacturing platforms that are faster, more flexible, and ready to deploy. 📰 Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eZDFdZPD John Borrego is SVP of Aerospace & Defense at #MachinaLabs. He previously held leadership roles at Northrop Grumman, SpaceX, Rocketdyne, and Los Alamos National Laboratory, with deep expertise in advanced manufacturing for defense and aerospace.

In the last edition of Machina Construct, we promised to reveal what’s next for Machina Labs at Up.Summit 2025 – a gathering of bold thinkers reimagining the future of transportation and mobility. We’re now 41 days away, and as we count down, we’ll share some of our favorite moments from the last 5 years at Machina Labs. Milestones that show how RoboForming and software-defined manufacturing are reshaping what’s possible. From forming the Anvil truck to deploying portable factories, we’re not just imagining the future ... We are building it. 🦾 #UpSummit #MachinaLabs #RoboCraftsman

🔥 “Factories should adapt as fast as the world changes. Our mission is to give innovators the freedom to design without waiting for the factory to catch up.” ~ Edward Mehr
We've arrived at the final installment in our 4 part series on the 2025 #HardTechAwards! In this final chapter, we spotlight five more winners who are proving that when vision meets engineering, we create incredible momentum toward a future we can ACTUALLY reach. Space propulsion? Quantum computing? Decentralized water treatment? Check out what futuristic frontiers are being made possible in commercialized hardware. The future is custom!
I see more and more of the following types of posts on social media (see first image). With generative AI, everyone is a designer and they are not shy about telling brands exactly what they want. If you cannot turn that flood of custom visions into physical reality, you will be left in the past. We saw this coming at Machina Labs which is why we built Anvil to show brands they need tech that keeps pace with AI fueled design freedom.

Proud to represent Machina Labs as a 2025 Silver Patron of the Space and Missile Defense Symposium in Huntsville. It was an honor to support this critical forum advancing national defense and a privilege to connect with leaders across government and industry, including RTX’s Michael Cox, this year’s Symposium Chair. The panels on Directed Energy, expertly moderated by Barry Pike, and the discussion on Next Generation Space and Missile Defense were particularly insightful highlighting the urgency, innovation, and collaboration required to meet emerging threats. Thank you to the SMD community for an exceptional event. The future of defense is being shaped in summits like these and we're proud to be part of the conversation. #SMD2025 #MissileDefense #NationalSecurity #DefenseInnovation

🏭 High-Temp Alloys. No Tooling. Rapid Iteration. This week, the Machina Labs team is on the ground at the Space and Missile Defense Symposium, educating the industry on how RoboForming is unlocking next-gen manufacturing for hypersonics and missile defense. Our RoboCraftsman platform forms complex, thin-walled structures in high-temperature alloys with NO dies, FASTER iteration, and digital traceability. It's time to build at the speed of modern defense. 🦾
