MANNA FoodBank is a member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks that distribute free food to food pantries and neighbors in need. We work with over 200 local partners to fight hunger today, tomorrow, and for a lifetime. Our drivers pick up food donations and deliver food to MANNA's food pantry partners across 16 counties in Western North Carolina and the Qualla Boundary, spending much of their driving time in the stunning mountains of our region. MANNA FoodBank is hiring for a variety of roles, including leadership positions, in our mission to end hunger in Western North Carolina! 🥑 The Chief Development Officer is a strategic fundraising leader who serves on the Senior Leadership Team. They will guide marketing efforts, design fundraising campaigns, and steward donors and partners. 🥕 The Distribution Manager will oversee our distribution operations at MANNA’s warehouse, including logistics, transportation, and inventory management. 🍉 The Accounting Controller leads the daily finance operations of our nonprofit organization, including general accounting and financial reporting. 🌽 The Community Food Systems Manager strengthens relationships with local farmers, food hubs, and partners to expand access to fresh, nutritious produce. 🥦 The Food Sourcing Manager will steward all of MANNA’s purchasing of food for distribution, including budgeting, vendor analysis, and product procurement. Key Responsibilities · Oversee accounting operations, general ledger, and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP. · Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. · Lead the month-end close process, including bank and investment reconciliations. · Prepare accurate and accessible financial reports for various stakeholders. · Support annual budgeting and financial planning. · Ensure grant compliance and accurate financial reporting for government and foundation funding. · Work cross-functionally to align finance with HR, IT, inventory, and program operations. · Assist in board and committee presentations on financial matters. What We're Looking For Required: · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. · 5–7 years of experience, including managing accounting professionals. · Expertise in GAAP and nonprofit financial standards. · Experience with government grants and nonprofit revenue recognition. · Strong skills in Excel and financial software (Sage Intacct a plus). · A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate financial concepts clearly. · Passion for hunger relief and social impact. Preferred: · Food bank or nonprofit experience. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines.
