We had a great day in Michigan meeting with our congressional leaders this week, alongside MBG members. 👩🌾🫐 The morning began with Rep. Hillary Scholten at Jawor Bros Blueberries in Ravenna, followed by an afternoon visit with Rep. Bill Huizenga at DeGrandchamp Farms in South Haven. These visits gave us the opportunity to share the challenges facing not only Michigan growers, but farmers across America. At the top of that list: 🔹 Ag Labor Reform – U.S. farmers need a stable and reliable workforce. We support reforms to the H-2A program that reflect the bipartisan Agricultural Labor Working Group’s recommendations, with solutions that keep farms competitive while protecting workers. 🔹 H-2A Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR) – Labor reform is critical to the future of U.S. farmers, but in the meantime, a freeze on the AEWR is urgently needed to prevent unsustainable increases. We are grateful that both Rep. Huizenga and Rep. Scholten submitted a letter to House Appropriations leaders requesting this freeze in the upcoming legislation. 🔹 Trade – U.S. specialty crop growers face unfair competition when imports arrive during our peak harvest window, driving down prices and threatening long-term sustainability. With the upcoming USMCA review, we urged leaders to ensure seasonal produce issues are fully considered. 🔹 Tree Assistance Program (TAP) – We are thankful that Rep. Huizenga’s TAP bill was prioritized for inclusion in the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” However, one key fix remains: clarifying that non-economically viable fields are eligible for TAP. We’ve asked the Ag Committee to include this in the next Farm Bill. We’re grateful for the chance to engage in these important conversations and will continue advocating for policies that protect American farmers and keep U.S. agriculture strong. 🌱 #MichiganAg #USBlueberries #AgLaborReform #FarmBill #TradePolicy #SupportOurFarmers

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved friend and CEO, Brad Moorer. Brad left us suddenly at home on August 7 after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.   For nearly fifteen years, Brad dedicated his life’s work to MBG Marketing and our growers. He began as CFO and VP of Value Added Business before becoming CEO in 2022. His leadership strengthened and expanded our Berry Blue genetics program, improved quality practices, and championed innovation across the blueberry and blackberry industry.   Brad was more than a leader — he was a friend, mentor, and passionate advocate for domestic berry growers. His goal was always to “delight the consumer,” but he never lost sight of the people in the field making it all possible.   Our thoughts and prayers are with Brad’s wife, Melanie, and their children, Bradley and Elizabeth. His legacy will live on in the work he loved, the people he inspired, and the community he helped build.   Rest in peace, Brad. You will be deeply missed.

Huge thanks to H-E-B for visiting our operations! We had a great time exploring new selections 🫐 in the trial plots, touring the warehouse, and visiting with our members on the farm. I'm sure they never knew that blueberries could have as wide a range of flavors as "tropical citrus" to "sourpatch candy"😂! It was a fun and productive day—both out in the field and in the cooler! We also appreciated learning more about HEB’s incredible commitment to their communities across Texas—from everyday shopping traditions to disaster relief efforts. It is always nice to partner with a retailer with such strong ties to their community.
