The teams at our 40,000 sq ft US facility and our 16,000 sq ft Canadian location are outfitted so that we can help your business thrive and grow. Whether your project starts with custom design or you know exactly what you need, our team has the capacity to help, while providing the attention to detail your project requires. McDonough's US location includes a host of CNC equipment including lathes, vertical and horizontal mills. They also specialize in working with large cast wheels, dynamic cast wheel balancing and track rail grinding. This shop has the experience and capacity to handle very large weldments including a large paint booth. The McDonough Canada shop is well equipped with a large CNC cutting table that allows us to burn steel plate in any pattern up to 6" in thickness. Machine tools include lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, press/punch and drilling centers. With our own paint booth and a team of welders/fitters on our shop floor we are able to cut, burn, machine, fit, weld and paint almost any custom weldment you might require. Our engineering team at McDonough use the latest in 3D solid modelling software to design and build some of the best machinery available in the industries we service. Integrated servo motion control, custom controls cabinets, operator consoles and PLC programming are also all done in house by our team of electrical engineers and technicians.

Move over, Nashville, there’s a new bandmill in town. Marv’s in Music City this week for the Forest EXPO, celebrating his birthday with Bob and Matt. Rumor has it the three of them aren’t just talking saws… they’re tuning up for a world tour. Their debut single? “Marv Can Tune a Bandmill (Better Than You Tune a Guitar)” Happy Birthday to the man who keeps the blades singing and the saws spinning. Don’t stay in Nashville too long… we can’t afford to lose you to the music industry.

Across the United States, sawmills are the backbone of rural economies. They power a $300 billion industry, provide thousands of high-paying, hands-on jobs, and keep American construction, packaging, and manufacturing moving. These mills don’t just cut wood, they support main streets, put food on the table, and keep small towns alive. Every job in a sawmill supports several more in trucking, maintenance, machining, and local services. At McDonough, we’ve been proud to supply the equipment that powers these mills since 1888. From headrigs to resaws and optimized edgers, we’ve stood with sawmills for over a century, and we’re still standing strong today. Because when mills succeed, towns thrive.
