In his latest op-ed, MetroStar CEO Ali Reza Manouchehri calls for urgent reform to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), cutting outdated bureaucracy, prioritizing mission speed, and bridging the “Valley of Death” that traps too many innovations before they can help our service members. ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gzRM6QRD
Excited to share my latest Op-Ed published today "To Bridge the Valley of Death, Start with FAR Reform." This isn’t about politics. It’s about something much bigger: our shared passion and purpose to help America move faster, think smarter, and deliver innovation where it matters most, in defense and security of our nation. For those of us in government software, tech, and innovation, the so-called “Valley of Death” is all too familiar. It’s not a lack of technology holding us back, it’s outdated rules. I believe and support reforming the FAR, we can turn red tape into results and unlock a new era of mission-first modernization. At MetroStar, we’ve fought hard to cross this valley. I wrote this piece to shed light on what needs to change so more innovators, "especially small businesses" can succeed without having to defy the odds. Let’s champion systems that serve our warfighters and mission owners with the same speed and agility we expect from our best tech. Let’s bridge the gap between vision and impact. 👉 Read the op-ed here: https://lnkd.in/eEtNd8mn Thank you to everyone pushing boundaries to make our country stronger, smarter, and more secure. #Innovation #NationalSecurity #FARReform #Leadership #MetroStar #PurposeDriven #DefenseTech #GovCon #MissionMatters

Today, on Purple Heart Day, we honor the brave U.S. service members who were wounded or killed in combat. Originally established by George Washington in 1782 as the Badge of Military Merit, the Purple Heart is now one of the most respected U.S. military decorations. It is awarded to service members who are wounded or killed in action against an enemy of the United States. At MetroStar, we’re proud to work alongside heroes like our very own Principal Software Engineer, Johnny Bouder. A U.S. Marines veteran and a Purple Heart recipient, whose dedication continues to inspire our team. We extend our deepest gratitude to Purple Heart recipients and their families. Your courage never goes unnoticed. Learn more about Johnny and the work he does in MetroStar's Innovation Lab here: https://hubs.li/Q03BmBh70

Yesterday, our interns wrapped up their summer projects with lunch alongside our CEO Ali Reza Manouchehri, CIO Jorge Vasquez and SVP of People + Culture Debbie Peterson, SHRM-CP. After a summer of building AI tools to help our teams move faster and work smarter, they took a well-deserved break. From MetroStar’s beginnings to the exciting future of AI, the conversations at lunch were full of inspiration. We love working with talented up-and-comers, and we’re proud that so many of our past interns have launched long-term careers at MetroStar. 🙌 To learn more about careers at MetroStar, visit: https://lnkd.in/dazrxvbd

It’s the last week for our interns, of course, we're going to miss them! Over the past 9 weeks, our technology interns Mason Scofield, Jacob Edwards, and Shubhi Gandhi developed AI tools to help our teams get work done more efficiently. Sydney George joined our marketing team, crafting educational and engaging content (like this video!) As they prepare to head back to campus, we’re thankful for the creativity, dedication, and energy they’ve shared with MetroStar. We can’t wait to see what's ahead for them! Join us in recognizing the exceptional contributions of Coasties past and present. #uscg #alwaysready U.S. Department of Homeland Security

We loved seeing Iva Hutson on stage at the ATARC (Advanced Technology Academic Research Center) Public Sector Women in IT Summit yesterday! She joined an incredible panel of leaders to discuss implementing AI in government and dropped a few memorable takeaways: ✔️ AI isn’t new. What’s new is how human-centered and accessible it’s become, thanks to advancements in tools and interfaces. ✔️ AI systems are much like toddlers; they learn through rewards. The better we understand their training, the better we understand their decision-making. ✔️ Culture matters most in any organization or team. It’s defined by the behaviors we accept, or don’t. If a culture tolerates harm, policies alone won’t fix it. We're grateful for spaces like this that bring thoughtful voices together to shape the future of government technology. Learn more about AI at MetroStar: https://lnkd.in/emtg892N Thank you to the other amazing panelists: LaShonda C. Henderson MSc, Patricia Titus, Dr. Deborah Duran, Rudolph Rojas, and Natalie Alms. A special thank you to Samantha W., Associate Director, Intelligence Community at MetroStar, for supporting our team.

We’re proud to celebrate two incredible veterans who joined MetroStar through the DoD-SkillBridge Program—made possible through our partnership with Hiring Our Heroes, a nonprofit that connects transitioning service members with career opportunities in the civilian workforce. We’re grateful to partner with Hiring Our Heroes to support purposeful career transitions and welcome mission-driven talent into our teams. The DoD-SkillBridge Program offers service members hands-on industry experience during their final 180 days of military service, helping them build new skills, grow their networks, and explore career pathways in the civilian workforce.
