  • 💜 At MiraVista, caring doesn’t end at the doors of our treatment center—it extends into the community we are proud to be part of. This back-to-school season, our team came together to support our colleague “Big Mike” in his efforts to provide local youth with the supplies they need to start the school year ready to learn. Thanks to the generosity of our staff, backpacks were filled, water bottles were donated, and notebooks, pencils, and more were gathered to help students feel supported and prepared. We are grateful for every act of kindness that makes a difference in the lives of children and families—and proud of a team that shows, time and again, that compassion is at the core of what we do. 📚✏️🎒

  • On Friday, MiraVista, raised the flag in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day. This day calls us to pause, to remember the lives lost to overdose, to honor the families who grieve, and to stand together in the truth that recovery is real. We are deeply grateful to Mark Cameron, who shared his personal journey of recovery and the profound pain of losing a loved one to overdose. His courage in speaking openly is a reminder that behind every statistic is a story — of struggle, of resilience, and of hope. Overdose is preventable. Recovery is possible. And no one has to walk this path alone. If you or someone you care about is in need of help, we are here. • 💜 Honoring International Overdose Awareness Day 💜 On Friday, August 29th, MiraVista Behavioral Health Center will join communities around the globe in recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day (August 31st). This day is a time to pause, remember lives lost, support those in recovery, and raise awareness that overdose is preventable and recovery is real. Here’s how we will honor the day together: Our building will shine purple — the international color of overdose awareness. The International Overdose Awareness Day flag will be raised at 10:00am as a public symbol of remembrance and solidarity. Staff will wear purple throughout the day to show their commitment to reducing stigma and standing with families and individuals impacted by overdose. A special breakfast will be shared with participants in our Opioid Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Programs, offering space for reflection, connection, and encouragement. Observed annually on August 31st, International Overdose Awareness Day reminds us of the urgent need for compassion, understanding, and access to care. At MiraVista, we provide same-day, walk-in access to our Opioid Treatment Program and free transportation within 25 miles, ensuring timely care when it matters most. For those who are seeking treatment, call 413-264-3042 or visit www.miravistabhc.care #togetherinremembrance #togetherinhope

  • August 26th is Women’s Equality Day This day reminds us of the progress made toward equality and the importance of continuing to ensure women’s voices are valued—in society, in the workplace, and in healthcare. Equality is not only about access to opportunity, but also about access to care. Women face unique pressures that can deeply impact mental health, from balancing multiple roles to navigating expectations placed upon them. Recognizing Women’s Equality Day also means recognizing the need for mental health resources that support women fully—without stigma and without barriers. Every woman deserves the chance to nurture her well-being, protect her peace, and move forward with strength.

  • Workplace Mental Health in 2025: A Path Forward Mental Health America’s latest report, Workplace Mental Health in 2025: Trends and Best Practices of Top Employers, shines a light on how organizations across the country are strategically investing in employee well-being. The report showcases key themes and examples from the 2025 recipients of MHA’s Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health, the nation’s top certification for employers committed to creating mentally healthy workplaces. At MiraVista, we believe that building a culture of wellness in the workplace is not only possible—it’s essential. Just as top employers are demonstrating, prioritizing mental health helps employees feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive both personally and professionally. As a behavioral health partner, MiraVista works alongside employers to strengthen their efforts in creating supportive and sustainable workplace cultures. Whether through education, direct access to care, or collaboration on resources for employees in need, we are committed to helping organizations make mental health a cornerstone of their success. Together, we can foster environments where employees feel seen, heard, and cared for—and where mental health is understood as an essential part of overall health. • This week, MiraVista was called upon—as we often are when issues of community impact in the mental health and substance use space arise. Western Mass News spoke with our own Dr. Kenneth Richmond on the topic of synthetic cannabis sales. His insights underscored both the importance of prevention and awareness, and the need for compassionate, accessible treatment for those affected. At MiraVista, we are committed to being a trusted partner in these conversations—working alongside community leaders, policymakers, and local organizations to strengthen awareness, expand resources, and support recovery. If you or someone in your social, work, or family circle needs help with a substance use or mental health challenge, we are here. And we are ready. 413-264-3042 Watch the full story here: 👇 https://lnkd.in/etD-Rw5Q

  • Every so often, we are reminded in the most touching way of the impact compassionate care can have. Recently, we received a heartfelt message and a small donation in recognition of the difference our staff made in one family’s journey: “We would like to make a donation in memory of a friend’s son. We told his parents we were making a donation to a facility that had made such a big difference in our Grandson’s journey. Thank you for the great work the staff does every day to save lives. Please use this small gift to purchase a ‘treat’ for patients.” Messages like this remind us that the kindness, patience, and dedication shown every day at MiraVista doesn’t just support individuals in care—it ripples out to bring comfort, healing, and hope to entire families. To all who place their trust in us: thank you. Your words inspire us to continue this important work, moment by moment, life by life.
