This August marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of the New Farmers of America (NFA), a historic organization that provided agricultural education and leadership opportunities for African American students. Founded in 1935, NFA held its first national convention at Tuskegee University and continued to empower young Black men in agriculture until it officially merged with the National FFA Organization in 1965. North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, which once served as the national headquarters of NFA, has partnered with us to preserve and share its legacy through a newly digitized archive.
