Campers visited Rosendin to learn all about electricity! 🔌 Rosendin staff shared about the variety of career opportunities for women in electrician construction and their modelers assisted our campers with their virtual builds and estimates. Ibew Local 520 electricians supervised the campers with their Graybar conduit bending, Border States lamp 💡 building, and Klein Tools and The Rosendin Foundation Switch Labs. Campers worked with Fire!🔥 First year campers learned how to solder with Comfort Systems USA and how to safety operate tools with Milwaukee Tool while returning campers field tripped to UA 286 to weld their table legs together. Our campers broke the ice, learned how to properly wear their PPE, took the AGC Culture of Care pledge, and worked with professionals from DEWALT to learn how to handle tools safely. Campers also built stepping stones with American Concrete Institute and Sika, and learned how to router wood and epoxy fill their tables. We're excited to kick off Camp NAWIC this week with our 40 campers at the Carpenter's Training Center! This year, we welcome 16 first-time campers and 24 returning campers to learn new skills and how to build safely. Special thanks to our volunteers who came out on Saturday for orientation and to prepare for camp!
