Berlin keeps pulling me back. In May, I spent time at UXDX and GITEX EUROPE. At UXDX, there were some thoughtful conversations about whether AI is reshaping, or even replacing design roles. It was great to meet people who genuinely care about user experiences and understand that effective authentication isn’t just a technical challenge; it’s about real people dealing with real frustrations. GITEX was louder, but still valuable; especially conversations around innovative biometric security approaches (one even used blood vessels for authentication … wild, but fascinating!!) Then in July, I returned for WeAreDevelopers. Great energy, great crowd. I attended several talks with practical insights. A few standout sessions I enjoyed were: - “Practical AI with Machine Learning for Observability” (Netdata): about real-world ML monitoring. - “Hello JARVIS – Building Voice Interfaces for LLMs” (Twilio): about practical use-cases of voice tech. - “Is it (F)ake?! Image Classification with TensorFlow.js” (Elastic): browser-based ML that's lightweight yet powerful. - “Oh S***! There's a New Accessibility Law and I'm Not Ready!” (Axess Lab): sharp and eye-opening insights into accessibility compliance.
