As the new school year begins, many children and teens feel overwhelmed by the pressure of returning to the classroom. From academic expectations to social challenges, the stress can be real. Start the conversation. Ask how they’re feeling about going back. Listen with empathy and without judgment. Ease the transition. Help them prepare by organizing supplies, reviewing schedules, and setting realistic goals. Offer reassurance. Remind them it’s okay to feel stressed — and that they’re not alone. Supporting kids through back-to-school stress can make a big difference in their confidence and well-being. Let’s help them start the year strong!

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month—a time to recognize the unique mental health challenges faced by communities of color and to advocate for equitable, culturally competent care. Mental health affects everyone, but stigma, access barriers and systemic inequities can make it harder for some to get the support they need. This month, we stand in solidarity, raise awareness and continue working to ensure every voice is heard and every person receives the care they deserve. #MinorityMentalHealth #EndTheStigma
