We are still on a high after the grand opening ceremony. A heartfelt thank you to our representatives, partners, and collaborators who joined us in Eldorado, TX. Your support and shared vision mean the world to us as we take this important step in our journey. Texas Department of Agriculture’s Carol Faulkenberry captured the moment perfectly: “This location will turn the humble duckweed into powerhouse Rubi Protein, helping to feed a hungry world with nutritious, sustainable protein-rich foods. This is the kind of innovation Texas agriculture is bringing to the table: showing the world that when Texans roll up their sleeves, we grow more than crops, we grow opportunity.” With the launch of our Rubi Protein and Lemna Leaf Greens product lines, we’re excited to showcase how Texas-grown innovation can transform the future of food. A special shoutout to the community members of Eldorado who joined us at the ceremony as well as representatives from Kevin Sparks Office.

🚀 Big news from Eldorado, Texas: Plantible’s first commercial facility—the Ranchito—has undergone a major upgrade and is officially open. Over the past year we’ve turned a patch of West Texas ranch land into a high-tech engine for sustainable nutrition. This 100-acre commercial facility is a model for protein manufacturing globally. • Tons of Rubi Protein™ produced to replace eggs and synthetic emulsifiers and lemna leaf greens nutritious green leaf powder to provide proteins, fiber, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals • Avoiding 8,000 t CO₂-e annually by swapping out animal-based and petro-derived ingredients. • 32 new skilled jobs created so far—lifting median income in Schleicher County by ~60%. Key enablers: • Equipment upgrades that increase output and enhances profitability • A proprietary high-yield lemna strain • Partnerships with innovators to advance accessibility and availability of delicious and nutritious protein solutions. This milestone proves that science-driven food solutions can thrive in rural America—generating economic opportunity while reinforcing the global food supply chain. Next up: further expanding capacity, advancing even higher-yield strains, and hiring more local talent to keep pushing the frontier of sustainable food production. Proud of the entire Plantible crew, our customer, investors, partners, and the Eldorado community for making this possible. Onward. 🌱 Read more in our press release: https://lnkd.in/dPxCCPq4

7 years ago, Plantible was just an idea— An idea born out of frustration with the status quo and the belief that there had to be a better way to nourish people and the planet without destroying them. We wanted to improve an ancient, broken system by creating better toolkits for food companies while leveraging more sustainable, nutrient dense plants. Today, that idea has turned into a rapidly growing company with a dedicated team of brilliant scientists and engineers, a 100-acre commercial farm, and a breakthrough ingredient: Rubi Protein™. To date, Rubi has been shown to outperform eggs, dairy, and synthetic emulsifiers in commercial food products. It’s functional by nature, scalable by design, and built to meet the needs of society head-on. While we’re proud of how far we’ve come, we know that our greatest accomplishments are still ahead of us. To everyone who’s been part of the journey: thank you. Here’s to building a better future, leaf by leaf. 🌿Our Story: https://lnkd.in/dyDgj8M2

🌱 We're honored to share that Plantible has been selected as one of the THRIVE Top 50 FoodTech companies of 2025 by SVG Ventures! This milestone is a reflection of our commitment to solving real problems in the food system. At Plantible, we believe innovation only matters if it delivers value to the end consumer — that means food that tastes better, has stable pricing, and doesn’t force trade-offs. Our approach combines biological and technological innovation with a deep understanding of what consumers actually want: better ingredients, without compromise. We’re reimagining what an agricultural supply chain can look like — scalable, transparent, and built around one of nature’s most efficient crops. Thank you so much to SVG Ventures for recognizing the journey ahead. #THRIVETop50 #FoodTech #AgriInnovation #RuBisCO #THRIVE2025

Plantible reposted this
A few days ago a teammate pulled me aside to show me the latest economic numbers from Schleicher County - the place we picked for our first commercial site, the Ranchito We chose this county (population ~3,000) in 2022 for its environmental and operational benefits. But beneath that was a second goal: put good, sustainable manufacturing jobs where they’re hard to find. In 2023 we added 35 local roles in operations, engineering, analytical chemistry, and maintenance. The 2023 figures stopped me in my tracks: median household income jumped 61% to $90 k, and the average pushed past $100 k. Plantible isn’t the only factor, but the overlap is hard to ignore—and incredibly motivating. We founded Plantible to rebuild the food system with cleaner, healthier and more resilient ingredients and to show that climate tech can lift rural economies rather than bypass them. We fundamentally believe that real change sticks only when everyone has a seat at the table. We’re just getting started. As we scale Rubi production, we’ll keep investing in Eldorado; training, hiring, and proving that the future of food can bloom in West Texas.
