  • ‼️Big news from the #PointsofLight25 Conference: Points of Light announced a bold goal to double the rate of volunteering across the U.S. and internationally through our global programs. Why? Because people need connection. Communities need capacity. And at scale, volunteering can bridge divides and build trust, helping us create a stronger, more united society. This isn’t just about increasing numbers. It’s about investing in the people and organizations who are building relationships and community resilience from the ground up. As our President and CEO, Jennifer Sirangelo said during her keynote, “Volunteering is a catalyst for societal change. The more individuals realize their purpose through volunteering, the more it transforms our society for the better.” Thank you, The Associated Press for shining a light on the incredible power of volunteers and recognizing the need to rebuild civic engagement in new, transformative ways. Check out the article, and let’s meet this moment to make volunteering a force for real, lasting change across generations.

William Mount, today’s #DailyPointofLight Award Honoree, was nominated by KPMG US for his inspiring journey of resilience and impact. After facing a lifelong stutter and enduring bullying that led to a mental health crisis, William transformed adversity into purpose—finding healing through speech and talk therapy and using his experience to uplift others. Determined to help others access the same support, he launched Free2Talk, a nonprofit that covers up to 80% of therapy costs for Virginia youth. To date, the organization has provided over 450 hours of speech and mental health services—removing financial barriers for kids and teens who need it most. His story is a powerful example of how lived experience and service can create lasting impact. Read more about William's experience and nominate someone in your life making a difference!
