Chief Transformation Officer | May you experience grace filled days of unconditional love, unwavering kindness, and unbridled peace.

Everyone’s talking about AI but what are they doing about AI? Want to start smart with clarity, not chaos? That’s exactly why we built the AI Velocity Program at Problem Solutions. It’s a 3-week sprint designed for busy teams who want: ◾Clarity on where AI could add value ◾A roadmap built with your tech, data, and people in mind ◾Zero fluff & minimal time away from daily task And we kept it under $15K on purpose to make it easy to say yes without needing a capital request or months of approval. When your team needs a clear next step ▶️ AI Velocity is that step. If you’re interested in seeing a sample AI Velocity output (a Navigator Report), I’m happy to share. #AIReadiness #AILeadership #PracticalAI #InnovationWithoutTheNoise #ProblemSolutions #AIVelocity

I hear this constantly from leaders. And honestly? I get it. Time to get creative. The traditional Kaizen model asks your team to step away from the work to fix the work for a significant amount of time. In today's VUCA world, we need to meet leaders where they are. We borrowed the idea from education. You know flipped classrooms? We tried flipping Kaizen. Simple experiment that's become a solid tool in our toolkit. There's still a time and place for full Kaizens. But for foundational business process modeling, AI integration, that kind of work - this approach actually fits. The flip is simple: Do the heavy lifting upfront. Come to teams with data, not blank whiteboards. Validate fast, implement faster. Here's what we've learned: Teams already know their problems. They just don't have time to document them properly. And most workshops spend 80% of the time building the case instead of solving it. Grace-filled process improvement is improving the process of process improvement (how meta!). #OperationalExcellence #Kaizen #LeanInnovation #ProcessImprovement #ChangeLeadership

Huh. Turns out the best enterprise AI playbook I’ve read this year comes from the US Marines. And it’s one every organisation should study. While most companies are still tinkering with LLM demos or siloed innovation labs, the Marine Corps published a masterclass in how to implement AI at scale - with clarity, urgency, and precision. Here’s what stood out for me: 𝐀𝐈 𝐈𝐬 𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲, 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 Marine Insight: AI is embedded within digital transformation - not treated as a bolt-on tool. Lesson: Don’t just hire an “AI lead” or spin up PoCs. Rethink your workflows, decision models, and structures around data. AI should reshape how work happens. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 Marine Insight: They deploy Digital Transformation Teams (DXTs) into commands to drive implementation and report insights. Lesson: Form cross-functional squads that embed into business units. Skip the innovation theatre - solve real problems in real contexts. 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Marine Insight: The focus is on data lifecycle, governance, architecture, and accessibility - before AI is even discussed. Lesson: AI lives downstream of your data. If it's fragmented or inaccessible, your AI won't scale. Fix the plumbing first. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐈 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 Marine Insight: They categorise the workforce into users, builders, and decision-makers - with tailored training for each. Lesson: AI literacy is for everyone. Execs, compliance officers, and operators all need the right level of fluency to lead and adapt safely. 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 Marine Insight: Legacy risk frameworks were flagged as blockers - and they propose streamlining them to accelerate deployment. Lesson: Ditch the red tape disguised as risk management. Build guardrails that allow for fast, safe experimentation. 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 - 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 Marine Insight: They gather and prioritise use cases directly from the field to guide investment and capability building. Lesson: Let operational pain - not hype - steer your roadmap. Start where the ROI is clear and measurable. 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 Marine Insight: They track adoption, blocker resolution, manual work reduction, and time-to-value - not just model count. Lesson: Success isn’t about how many models you build. It’s what they improve, who uses them, and what outcomes they drive. +++++++ The Marines are doing what most enterprises claim to do - but rarely pull off. This isn’t a vision deck. It’s an execution plan. And it’s worth studying. H/T Claudio Bareato

“What are we doing about AI?” — The 5-word panic sentence It starts with a Slack message from your CEO. Or a board question. Or someone posting an AI success story from your competitor. “What are we doing about AI?” Cue panic. You’re not resisting AI. You’re resisting the chaos that follows when there’s no clear starting point. — Random tools. — Unaligned teams. — Big vendor proposals with six-figure budgets. The truth? Most organizations don’t need an “AI strategy.” They need a calm, clear, 3-week path from curiosity → capability. Has your org asked the question yet? If so — how did you respond? #AIReadiness #Leadership #DigitalTransformation #ModernWork

The Orange Peel attended MFGWORKS this week, the "Region's most comprehensive manufacturing conference," presented by Catalyst Connection and the University of Pittsburgh. Panels and conversations ranged from Future of Work themes to overall individual and workforce sustainability. Manufacturers and educators noted that younger generations learn differently and as we merge emerging technologies with specialized human labor, there is a nuance to that. The fear mongering of machines replacing people jumps over much broader themes of tech evolving and innovating almost simultaneously (we haven't landed on the moon yet), the high demand for skilled and specialized humans in the manufacturing space, and the jarring stat that only 10% of AI initiatives reach full deployment. A lot to unpack and a lot to do. The OP has a narrow lane- we are the connecting piece between tech makers and the end user. That involves a lot of conversation, prep work, and augmented learning. We can do it. Partner4Work Pittsburgh ARM Institute Compliance Management International RJR Safety Inc. Problem Solutions #AI #Manufacturing #Pennsylvania
