About us

Pursuit connects guests and staff to iconic places through unforgettable experiences that become inspiring stories to tell. Pursuit began as a spark—an idea that the world’s most incredible destinations deserve experiences just as special as they are. What started with a handful of storied properties has grown into a collection of world-class attractions and hospitality experiences. Since 2016, we’ve been driven by a clear mission: to connect you to iconic places through unforgettable, inspiring experiences. Pursuit’s experiences include 15 world-class point-of-interest attractions and 28 distinctive lodges, along with thoughtful restaurants, retail, and transportation that enable our guests to discover and connect with what makes each location unique. In every experience, you will find friendly team members, thoughtful amenities, and delightful details along the way. So join us—adventure awaits, and a world of experiences is ready to welcome you.

  • In July, Pursuit was honoured to host 48 Stoney Nakoda youth from Bearspaw, Goodstoney, and Chiniki First Nations as part of the Summer Youth Career Empowerment Camps. Over three sessions, we led groups of high school and university students around some of our Banff experiences and attractions to get a behind the scenes look and learn about the diverse career paths that are possible in the hospitality and tourism industry. During their time with us, the youth connected with several team members from across our Banff locations like Jessica Keshane, who proudly represented her Cree heritage and shared her culinary Pursuit story at the Banff Gondola. From her first role in the kitchen as a dishwasher to becoming a chef at the Peak Patio in just a few months, her story, like many others they heard, offered a real-life look at what’s possible through mentorship, determination, and care. The final session featured Jennifer Sisson from Banff & Lake Louise Tourism, who shared insights on Indigenous tourism and the connection between culture, community, and opportunity. We're grateful to have played a small part in this meaningful experience and proud to walk alongside these future leaders in tourism. #PromiseToPlace #TourismCareers #TourismforGood

  • Being part of a place means showing up for it. This spring, thousands of locals in Banff, Jasper, and Golden joined us for Locals Appreciation Days and together, we raised over $36,000 for community programs through the Pursuit Community Fund. From mental health and addictions services to support for newcomers, these funds stay right here at home, supporting the people in the Canadian Rockies. This is one way we live our Promise to Place — by listening, showing up, and reinvesting in the people and places that sustain us. • At Pursuit, reducing food waste isn’t just a back-of-house initiative. It’s a mindset our chefs carry into every decision. From ingredient planning at 7,500 ft to repurposing bar citrus into brine, our Canadian Rockies culinary teams are making low-waste kitchens part of how we operate, lead, and connect with the places where we live, work and play. It’s not always flashy work, but it’s the kind that adds up. And for us, it’s one more way we live our Promise to Place, while providing authentic hospitality to our guests and honouring the places we call home. • In July 2024, forest fires reached the edge of Jasper, leaving visible marks across the landscape and deeper ones within the community. What followed was a powerful reminder of what makes this place so special. Residents, local organizations, and tourism partners came together not just to recover but to rebuild with care, intention, and resilience. As part of that effort, Pursuit joined with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Rocky Mountaineer and Jasper Brewing Co. and Maligne Range Distilling to help establish the Jasper Tourism Recovery and Prosperity Fund: a three-year, community-managed initiative stewarded by the Jasper Community Team Society with support from the Banff Canmore Foundation. The fund is already supporting mental health services, food security programs, and schoolyard revitalization in the town, with many more to come. In this article, our COO, Stuart Back, reflects on what it means to listen first, lead with care, and stand alongside our neighbours to ensure Jasper continues to thrive. • “We’re in the business of connecting our guests to the world’s beautiful views.” That’s how Pursuit CEO David Barry puts it. And while the scenery matters, what makes an experience truly unforgettable is the people who bring it to life. At Pursuit, authentic hospitality isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we work hard to build into every experience. Whether its helping visitors form deeper connections with one of the world’s most majestic natural wonders, or a local guide welcoming guests like neighbours, we believe the best hospitality comes from those who genuinely know and love the places they’re part of. Wherever we are, it’s that sense of place and the people behind it that turn a beautiful view into an unforgettable memory. Read more in Travel Pulse Canada’s interview with David Barry, where he shares what makes Pursuit tick, how we choose the iconic places we’re part of, and why local matters more than ever. #PursuitLife #LeadershipWithPurpose #HospitalityLeadership #AuthenticExperiences

  • When guests hear a whale sing beneath the surface, they remember it for life. For over 30 years, Captain Mark Lindstrom has quietly shaped the way guests experience the wild beauty of Kenai Fjords National Park. With every tour, he invites visitors to slow down, listen in, and witness Alaska’s marine life with curiosity and respect. Using tools like hydrophones — and a lot of heart — he helps people connect to wildlife not just by sight, but by sound and presence.
