Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for Over The Edge on Sunday! More than 40 people rappelled down the side of the Grand Hyatt San Diego, including ten Reality Changers students. Thank you rappellers, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and guests! Funds raised during Over The Edge help youth to complete high school, get into college, graduate from college, and launch their careers. #OverTheEdge4College #FirstGen #Community #Gratitude #ThankYou

Reality Changers prepares youth to become first generation college graduates and agents of change in their community.
About us
At Reality Changers, we believe that college changes everything. Our mission is to prepare youth to become first generation college graduates and agents of change in their communities. Our vision is equitable and universal access to education. Since our inception, program graduates have earned over $140,000,000 in scholarships to attend institutions such as UCSD, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UCLA (among other top-25 institutions), including 29 Gates Millennium Scholarship recipients. Reality Changers fills the special need of providing hope to students in Southern California’s toughest communities. Students in our communities may not have it easy, but this shouldn't prevent them from becoming first generation college students. Our theory of change is that when low-income, high-potential students are given the mechanisms and support to envision a better future for themselves, they will become more confident, capable, and motivated to enroll and succeed in college and career.

"Reality Changers changed everything for me. I got tutoring, mentorship, and a community that believed in me. My GPA went from a 2.8 to a 3.8 in a single semester." - Diego Reality Changers students want to rappel down the side of the Hyatt... and you can help give them that experience! Donate: https://lnkd.in/gfQpdvj2 Over The Edge is an incredible opportunity for Reality Changers students to challenge themselves... just like they do every day at Reality Changers. Thanks to KPBS for hosting us last week! The tour for college students and recent college graduates included a discussion with KPBS journalists and producers, like Katie Hyson, Julianna Domingo, Heidi de Marco, and Gustavo Solis. We also got to see the Evening Edition studio, production spaces, office areas, and radio & podcast studios. The highlight of the evening was running into Ashley Carbonell, Reality Changers Class of 2015, who works as a Donor Engagement Manager at KPBS! Thank you to Terence Shepherd for the opportunity and for leading our tour! And thank you to all of the incredible team members who took time to chat with us and show us your jobs! #CollegetoCareer #CareerExploration #Partnership #FirstGen #Collaboration
