How does a young entrepreneur get started? For Nick Boston, it began with one dumpster. After a car business didn’t pan out, he pivoted and The Can Man Waste Solutions was born. Today, he operates more than 37 dumpsters and serves a growing customer base. When Nick wanted to expand into residential trash services, he turned to SCORE. With guidance from his mentor, he refined his pitch, organized his finances and mapped out a long-term growth plan. Now with eight employees and expanded services like junk removal and estate clean-outs, The Can Man is scaling strategically and sustainably. To date, I’ve had the honor of mentoring 6 different business owners through SCORE—and every single one of them has shown up with drive and commitment.
