🎉 ANNOUNCEMENT: We are honored to announce that former U.S. Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Al Gore will deliver the keynote speech at the Welcome Ceremony of SF Climate Week 2025! Vice President Gore is one of the world's most influential climate leaders, known for raising awareness through his groundbreaking documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," which shaped public discourse on climate change. His continued leadership through initiatives including The Climate Reality Project and Generation Investment Management has had a profound ongoing impact, empowering activists globally and investing in sustainable innovation and the transition to a sustainable economy. This year, SF Climate Week will gather over 25,000 attendees across more than 450 events, and has become one of the world's most important gatherings at the intersection of environmentalism and innovation. At its heart, SF Climate Week exemplifies the transformative power of community—breaking down silos, fostering cross-sector collaboration and reconnecting people through shared purpose. Al Gore’s keynote further amplifies our mission by drawing on his unparalleled experience and vision, helping to accelerate momentum in the climate movement. “Few figures in the environmental movement command the global recognition and respect as Vice President Gore does,” says Evan Hynes, co-founder of Climatebase and SF Climate Week. “His keynote amplifies SF Climate Week’s role as a lightning rod for collective action, bold ideas, and community-building at a time when the world feels profoundly divided, distracted, and overwhelmed. Gatherings like this offer a rare space for people to forge meaningful connections and generate the momentum we need to accelerate climate solutions—together.” “Each year, SF Climate Week generates even more energy and urgency for meaningful change,” says Morgan Campbell, Director of SF Climate Week at Climatebase. “Vice President Gore's participation reminds us that when we act together, our collective power is unstoppable.” Welcome Ceremony will take place: • Monday, April 21, from 4 PM -7 PM  • Venue: The Exploratorium, the largest net-zero energy museum in the U.S. and a global leader in science learning and education. Important Note: 🔹 Spots at the Welcome Ceremony are extremely limited due to venue capacity. We encourage anyone interested to apply to attend, but please note that registering does not guarantee a spot. 🔹 However, we’re excited to offer a limited number of guaranteed spots at the Welcome Ceremony to individuals selected at random. To enter the drawing for one of these guaranteed spots, simply reshare this post on LinkedIn. Request to Attend: https://lnkd.in/g57QHvdn We sincerely thank Vice President Gore and his team for partnering with us to inspire meaningful action at a time when community, collaboration, and decisive steps forward are more critical than ever. Gear up for the Geospatial AI “ChatGPT moment”, when Large Earth Models truly work out and change everything. While a lot of amazing progress has been made by tech companies and startups (Pachama included) in the field of Geospatial AI, it’s still in its infancy. So much investment and attention has gone to LLMs and generative AI for images and videos; yet AI models to understand, simulate and track our planetary systems can have an even more outsized impact on the future of humanity and life on Earth. The amount of data that gets collected every day by satellites, airplanes, drones and terrestrial sensors is already gigantic and it will only grow exponentially. Imagine what will be possible when geospatial AI models have the proficiency that LLM models are achieving today... In the last SF Climate Week, we organized the first AI for Nature Forum at the iconic Salesforce Tower, gathering brilliant minds from science, tech, policy and business working around this area. We now want to explore an AI for Nature Initiative (we're calling it "AINI") to keep aligning builders in the space around bold visions for the future of Earth, powered by this revolution. Who should be part of this?
