Think multitasking is easy? 🧠💥 Our Tempe team recently tried the 'finger switching' challenge, alternating ✌️ and 👌 between hands, and hit a roadblock called 'bimanual interference.' It’s when your hands struggle to do different things at the same time because your brain prefers focusing on one task.   This moment was part of a leadership development program launched by Leroy Douglas III, Senior Learning Specialist. Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are at the heart of Shutterfly’s culture, creating spaces for learning, connection, and growth. Recently, our Women in Leadership ERG brought employees together—both in person and virtually—for a hands-on skill-building experience that blended professional development with a bit of fun! Through an interactive mocktail demonstration, participants not only mastered the art of crafting delicious drinks but also had the opportunity to network, collaborate, and strengthen connections across teams. Events like these remind us that growth isn’t just about what we learn—it’s about the relationships we build along the way. At Shutterfly, we’re proud to invest in our employees' growth and development. Eric Leifer and Mauricio Gutierrez recently completed Shutterfly’s 2-year Apprenticeship Program at our Fort Mill, SC facility. Through our partnership with a local technical college in Rock Hill, this program provided a unique opportunity for career growth, combining 40 credit hours of coursework with hands-on, on-the-job training. As a result, Eric and Mauricio have both been promoted to Machine Operator Specialists, earning valuable technical certifications and mastering skills such as: 🔧 Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues ⚙️ Performing adjustments and maintenance on mechanical systems 📄 Documenting maintenance and repair procedures 🔩 Replacing components as needed to ensure seamless operations Congratulations, Eric and Mauricio! 🎉 #Shutterfly #ApprenticeshipProgram #CareerGrowth
