#SJGH is proud to welcome Philip Cheng MD, MBA, our new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Medical Director! 🙌🏻 📍A true County of San Joaquin local, Dr. Cheng was raised in Stockton and is a graduate of Lodi Academy. He is also one of a small but distinguished group of physicians nationwide who are triple-trained (yes, triple) in Pediatrics, Neonatology, and Pediatric Cardiology. 🎓Dr. Cheng completed his General Pediatrics residency with UC San Francisco, based in Fresno, followed by a Neonatology fellowship at UC San Diego, and most recently, a Pediatric Cardiology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. 👨🏻⚕️ As the former NICU Medical Director and Chief of Pediatrics at St. Joseph's, he is dedicated to giving San Joaquin's newborns the strongest start possible. ☕ When he's not providing world-class care, Dr. Cheng enjoys trying new restaurants, sipping good coffee, enjoying a round of golf, and taking up Pickleball. At the heart of her practice, Dr. Hashmi believes that curiosity, community, and compassion are the true pillars of medicine.
