What started as one alum’s dream is now a reality! When Sumedh Habbu M.S. ’23 realized there was no Stevens Alumni Association regional network in India, he volunteered to start one himself. On Saturday, August 9, the very first meet-up took place in Navi Mumbai, bringing together four alumni across two decades: Adit Shah ’00, Aditya Shenoy MBA ’21, Smit Raval MBA ’20 and Sumedh Habbu M.S. ’23. From Hoboken in the ’90s to pandemic era graduations, the group shared stories and memories over coffee. “There’s something magical about connecting with fellow Ducks who walked the same Castle Point halls, struggled through the same challenging coursework and created lifelong memories in our beloved Hoboken,” Habbu shared. Preety Vandana M.S. ’20 uses her expertise in machine learning to provide a helping hand to hospitality giant Wynn Resorts, as the organization’s marketing department customizes the visitor experience at its properties in Las Vegas and Boston. A graduate of Stevens’ financial engineering master’s program, Vandana says that her education in data science and analytics has equipped her to predict market performance, assess hedging strategies and manage risk.
