We’re thrilled to welcome two new Roots to the Taproot team: Carolina Garcia-Navarro and Kyle Petersson! Carolina brings a collaborative spirit and sharp curiosity to her role as Special Assistant to the CEO, partnering across the organization and with our board to strengthen processes and amplify Taproot’s impact. Kyle, our new Manager of Strategic Operations, is a dynamic and observant leader focused on operational efficiency—and known as a true game night enthusiast. We can’t wait to see the skill he brings to streamlining our systems (and to be on his team for Codenames). Please join us in giving Carolina and Kyle a warm Taproot welcome! 💙

Members of the CCCW team were proud to participate in the closing event of “Using Data for Good”, a powerful initiative sponsored by the Taproot Foundation and supported by the amazing volunteers from Regeneron. Through this collaboration, we spent the last 12 weeks exploring the transformative potential of data to drive impact for the CCCW. This moment of uncertainty for government workers is personal for me. I’ve worked in government. I live in a city of government workers. I have federal employees in my family. Seeing some of the most passionate, talented people I know face disappointment and disruption has been tough. But there’s also hope. Across the country, organizations are stepping up—creating connection, offering training, and helping workers turn a period of transition into a time of growth and purpose. At Taproot Foundation, federal workers in transition can turn to us for pro bono projects—using this time to build new skills, stay engaged, and channel their commitment to community into meaningful nonprofit work. It’s a way to turn a difficult moment into a chance to do good. I’m proud that Taproot is part of this movement—and grateful our work was highlighted in Government Executive's recent piece on how organizations are supporting federal workers. Thank you to Sean Michael Newhouse for shining a light on this work—and on the incredible talent and heart in this community.
Upheaval at the federal level has made things tough for nonprofits, but it's also led to layoffs for thousands of dedicated professionals with a passion for service. Taproot CEO Cat Ward recently shared with Government Executive how our platform is seeing an increase in former federal workers turning to pro bono service to continue making an impact. “What we offer these talented, purposeful, passionate, highly skilled individuals is an opportunity to put your purpose to work, to stay engaged, to build your network, to flex your skills, maybe into spaces that you weren't working for." Taproot is proud to be part of the solution—connecting skilled professionals with nonprofits that need their expertise. Companies have a major role to play in helping nonprofits survive and thrive -especially in this environment. The Taproot Foundation's latest read lays out smart, concrete ways that businesses can move from a transactional “give” model to one rooted in partnership. The key takeaway? Beyond checks and one‑off grants, nonprofits need support in building capacity, resilience, and long‑term relationships -especially in fundraising, marketing, and strategic planning. When companies invest in these areas (e.g. pro bono skills, training, flexible funding), they help amplify impact today and help nonprofits become stronger institutions for the future. If you’re working in CSR, partnership strategy, or nonprofit/for‑profit collaboration, this is worth a read. 🔗https://lnkd.in/eyn6P6EX #NonprofitSupport #CSR #Partnerships #Impact #DigitalEngagement

Excited to be attending the 2025 ACCP conference in Atlanta! From powerful keynotes to collaborative worshops, I have enjoyed learning and connecting with fellow corporate citizen professionals. A highlight was collaborating with the Taproot Foundation on their “Transformational Impact: Integrating L&D and Skills-Based Volunteering (SBV)” workshop. Dana Yellin and Alexander Guiney led this interactive session, and I spotlighted a case study on how Prudential Financial’s Inclusive Solutions team partners with L&D to embed SBV into several of their leadership development programs. Specifically, the Leadership Exchange for Impact program, where senior Prudential executives are paired with Newark nonprofit executives to address leadership challenges and learn about each other's work / sectors through a five-month relationship building journey. Grateful for the opportunity to share, learn and grow with peers, and excited to bring these insights back with me. #2025ACCP #CSR #ImpactThroughCollaboration
