About us
The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) has developed a set of disclosure recommendations and guidance that encourage and enable business and finance to assess, report and act on their nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities. Sign up to our mailing list - https://ow.ly/69Ub50WOXB4 The recommendations and guidance will enable businesses and finance to integrate nature into decision making. Our aim is to support a shift in global financial flows away from nature-negative outcomes and toward nature-positive outcomes, aligned with the Global Biodiversity Framework. Launched in 2021, TNFD released the first beta versions its framework for consultation and feedback between March 2022 and March 2024. Over the two-year design and development phase leading to the publication of the TNFD recommendations in September 2023, it received feedback from over 60 countries. Over 200 pilot tests of a prototype framework were conducted by business and financial institutions around the world across sectors, geographies and biomes. TNFD published its final recommendation in September 2023.

📢 Deadline: Provide feedback on measurement of ocean-related issues The unique nature of the ocean, with its transboundary waters and complex legal frameworks, means measuring ocean-related issues requires specific methodologies, tools and data, unlike land-based assessments. 📆 Open for consultation until the 1 October 2025. 🔗 Read the paper & provide feedback - https://ow.ly/3K9g50WWH8u Following the release of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) recommendations in 2023, feedback showed a clear demand for more ocean measurement guidance, including: 1️⃣ Specific methodologies, tools and datasets to help organisations use the LEAP approach for identifying and assessing ocean-related issues. 2️⃣ Practical case studies that illustrate how and why ocean-related issues are important and examples of how they can be identified, assessed and disclosed. 3️⃣ Improvements in measuring ocean-related issues, including scientific consensus on metrics, methodologies and terminology, along with better access to data and innovation in technology and analytics. We invite feedback on how ocean-related issues are covered within the TNFD recommendations and additional guidance, including the TNFD metrics architecture and the LEAP approach. We are also interested in insights into guidance, tools and datasets that currently exist for measuring ocean-related issues. 💬 If you have any questions about the consultation process, please contact feedback@tnfd.global #TNFD #Consultation #Oceans #Metrics #WorldOcean #MarineConservation #Sustainability

Mainstreaming Natural Capital: Advancing the Global Agenda to Mainstream Nature in Decision-Making Over the past three decades, significant progress has been made in advancing natural capital approaches. Today, over 90 countries maintain at least one UN System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) compliant account, and over 100 businesses are experimenting with natural capital accounting and valuation models. Yet, mainstream adoption is limited. 6 persistent challenges - from unclear market mechanisms to price in the full value nature and data gaps to cultural and political barriers - hinder scale and coherence. There is also a clear need to coordinate efforts across the global natural capital community. A new report by the World Economic Forum takes stock of progress and identifies 5 critical action areas to unlock change: 📊 Embedding natural capital approaches in the public sector 🌍 Boosting data, science and capacity 💰 Integrating financial and natural capital accounting 🏦 Empowering markets to reflect the full value of nature 🤝 Redefining social and cultural values for systems change Read the report and join us in advancing the global agenda on natural capital. 👉 https://ow.ly/QB2e50WTN3u #NaturalCapital, #Nature, #SustainableFinance, #SystemsChange
