TBR friends and colleagues recently came together to honor the late April Preston, beloved associate vice chancellor for human resources and payroll services, by raising $9,248.87 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. On August 14, Chancellor Flora Tydings, Regent Nisha Powers, Vice Chancellor Jothany Reed and Associate Vice Chancellor Cris Perkins proudly presented the check to Catherine Higdon, senior director of foundation relations at St. Jude.

We presented at SHEEO (State Higher Education Executive Officers Association)'s event in #Minneapolis last week on how states offer professional development to faculty to enhance reforms in placement, learning support and math instruction along with our partners at the Louisiana Board of Regents, the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and Motivate Lab. #Louisiana and #Tennessee states have partnered with Motivate Lab to train faculty on how to use the principles of motivation and learning mindsets to better engage students. Exciting times!

This past academic year, 553 student-athletes participating in Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) sports maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher! 👏 This good news, along with updates on NJCAA policies and annual information, was shared during the recent TCCAA athletic director meeting at Vol State. Many of Tennessee's community colleges offer a variety of sports, including baseball, softball, basketball, golf, soccer, cross country, half-marathon, and women's volleyball. ⚾ 🥎 🏀 ⚽ 🏃♂️➡️ 🏃♀️➡️ 🏐
