It’s hard to believe it’s already August — which means we’re getting closer to wrapping up the Lobatos Bridge Outdoor Classroom and Recreation Enhancement Project! We’ve been busy doing trail work, setting the foundation for shade structures, and even moving some seriously big boulders to help bring the whole space together. If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, you probably have some great playground memories — along with a few metal slide burns to prove it! 😅 Upgrading the playground at Ayres Natural Bridge Park was one of many ways we worked to make this already special spot even better. And the best part? A group of kids was ready to test it out the moment we finished! Does it get cold in Maui? It sure does—at least at Haleakalā National Park! 🌋 A drive up to the summit feels like a journey through the mountains, ending at a breathtaking 10,023 feet above sea level. The temperature at the top is, on average, 30°F cooler than down at the beach — so while it might be a sunny 70° below, you could be greeted by a blustery 40° at the summit. This dramatic change in climate (and the incredible views) make Haleakalā one of the most unique and memorable national parks in the country. #TheGreatOutdoorsFund #GetBackToNature
