Great news from LAHSA’s 2025 Point in Time Homeless Count: homelessness is down 4 % county‑wide and 3.4 % in the City (14 % lower across Los Angeles County in just two years). These numbers reflect what our teams witness daily: neighbors moving from sidewalks to shelter, then into permanent homes. This progress is the result of coordinated outreach, more shelter beds, new supportive housing, and the tireless efforts of service providers across L.A.

  • The Senate just passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a budget that would slash funding for Medicaid, housing, and homelessness programs. But, the fight isn’t over: the bill now heads to the House, and we have a short window to act. Cuts would severely impact LA County, reducing mental health care, supportive services, and housing vouchers. 👉 Take action now. Tell Congress: Protect Medicaid and housing. http://bit.ly/44cT61S

  • Creating inclusive and welcoming environments for everyone is a year round gig. As we move forward and make progress towards a more inclusive future, it’s important to remember where we’ve been and the steps that we took to get here. As we push past adversity and celebrate our true selves, we pave the road for everyone who comes after us and make their journeys that much easier. Happy #pride and never forget to be gay, be you, be proud and do good.

  • On June 18th, the Black Employee and Black Leadership Standing in Solidarity groups gathered to celebrate Juneteenth and freedom during these unprecedented times. Our community came together in solidarity to be surrounded by and contribute to collective joy. Together we honored the ones that came before us that brought us to this space where we were able to be expressive about the pride we have in our culture & share stories of our history.  A portion of our enjoyment was thanks to a few of the magnificent Black owned businesses of Los Angeles! Special thanks to 3 Snaps BBQ & Johnson Brothers BBQ for the delicious food and Pucker Up Lemonade Co for the wonderful drinks! Thank you Southern Girl Desserts for our celebratory red velvet cupcakes & nibbler cookies!! Throughout the entire celebration there was a plentiful snack table and stunning balloon arch, donated by Eleventh Hour Affair. Lastly, we were so blessed to have some raffle prizes donated; a book, gratitude to the lovely & thoughtful Octavia's Bookshelf as well as holistic goodies from Nappily Naturals!!!  We are deeply grateful to all the incredible volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to help make this event a reality. Your behind-the-scenes support created a space that was not only beautiful and seamless but truly welcoming for our entire community. Thanks to you, the day was filled with joyful dancing, shared laughter, delicious food, meaningful traditions, and heartfelt blessings. The overwhelming sense of unity was felt by all, and we are truly thankful for the opportunity to come together, support one another, and celebrate in strength and community.

“We do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes.” – Mollie Lowery This Women's History Month, we honor Mollie Lowery, whose visionary leadership at OPCC (now The People Concern) helped establish Sojourn, our vital program supporting survivors of domestic violence, and Turning Point, our homeless shelter. Her lasting legacy inspires us to continue moving forward together.

  • Happy Pride!!!!!! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ We’re proud to celebrate identity and love this month as we elevate the voices of those supporting our most vulnerable neighbors. The inspiration that Malika has received from her mother has become a beacon of hope for those around her, both within her fellow staff members as well as the people she serves.

  • Collaboration is essential in making art accessible and transformative. For people experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges, the opportunity to create through our Arts Program can be life-changing. Walk With Me is more than an art exhibition. It’s a space where our participants can share their stories, find healing, and claim their place in the community through creative expression. This exhibition is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture Board of Supervisors. #LACountyArts
