These courts are kind of a big dill. 🏓   We helped bring 12 brand-new courts to life at Pouncey Tract Park in Glen Allen, Virginia. The courts feature asphalt surfacing with acrylic coating, LED sports lighting, expanded parking, improved park access, and a shaded pedestrian promenade. The championship-style courts were designed to include extra runout space, bleachers, and year-round shade structures—perfect for tournaments or just pretending you’re playing in one.   Swipe through to see how it turned out, then grab a paddle and get in on the fun. Timmons Group’s urban land development team recently joined Liberation Veteran Services (LVS) for an Open House showcasing Veterans Village, a new supportive housing community that will replace LVS's current facility. The project will include 50 private micro-apartments, giving veterans their own bedroom and bathroom, along with a community building featuring shared amenities to help residents regain stability and independence. Since its founding, LVS has supported over 770 veterans, helped more than 200 gain full-time employment, and provided mental health services to 265+ individuals. It has been incredibly rewarding to serve as a landscape architect for the new Commonwealth Courts Building in Richmond. Our Timmons Group team has been hard at work weaving the site into the urban fabric of Capitol Square, promoting ecology and accessibility through a pedestrian-centered design. This is an exciting project to be part of, helping to shape a civic space that reflects the dignity and importance of Virginia’s highest courts in the heart of the city. We’re grateful to collaborate with the talented teams at Baskervill and Fentress Studios, a Populous Company, and we can’t wait to see this one come to life!

Meet Zoe Ellsworth, an intern with our Richmond Environmental Risk and Remediation team! Zoe recently graduated from Virginia Tech in May with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Policy and Planning and will return this fall to complete the accelerated 4+1 Master's program in Urban and Regional Planning. This is Zoe's second year interning at Timmons Group, and she's spent the summer diving into Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, exploring GIS mapping, and visiting project sites across the region. "I'm so excited to keep learning and growing in this field, and I'm so grateful to be part of a team that is helping facilitate environmentally responsible projects all across the region," she said.
