On August 16, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan published Resolution No. 517 dated 15.08.2025 approving Technical Regulation on the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Radioelectronics Products (Uzbekistan RoHS). The Regulation applies to specific categories of electrical and electronic products listed under Annex I and establishes: • restriction on ten hazardous substances, including permanent and limited-time exemptions • requirements for packaging, labeling and operating documentation • compliance requirements, including the possibility to choose between declaration of conformity and certification • marking requirements (OZS Conformity Mark) • transitional periods This Regulation will enter into force on February 17, 2026. Documents confirming conformity for electrical and radioelectronic products obtained before the entry into force of these Regulation shall continue to be valid for the periods specified therein. On June 14, 2025, the government of Vietnam enacted a new Law on Chemicals (Law No. 69/2025/QH15) to update the existing chemical management framework of Vietnam by introducing key changes to various regulated chemicals and chemical processes. The scope of this law includes the management of chemicals and chemical-related activities, the development of the chemical industry, information about chemicals and the regulation of hazardous chemicals in products and goods, and it ensures safety and security in chemical-related activities. This new law will be enforced beginning January 1, 2026. On May 15, 2025, the European Commission (EC) enacted the proposed decision to add dechlorane plus under Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on persistent organic pollutants. This delegated act implements decision SC-11/10 to list Dechlorane Plus in Annex A, in accordance with Article 15(1) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 to specify the following chemical limits: a) equal to or below 1000 mg/kg (0,1 % by weight) where they are present in substances, mixtures or articles b) equal to or below 1 mg/kg (0,0001 % by weight) where they are present in substances, mixtures or articles The regulation also sets a limit of 1,000 mg/kg for the minimum allowable quantity from the effective date, reducing it to 1 mg/kg after 30 months. Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on persistent organic pollutants implements the EU’s international commitments under the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants.
