Stephanie was recognized for her vigilance and quick action in identifying an irregularity in a patient’s cardiac rhythm and escalating it immediately to the care team. Later, she spoke up again to ensure the patient received the right follow-up care — a decision that led to critical next steps and helped keep the patient safe. Casey, a nurse in the Birthing Center at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, was nominated by a patient for her extraordinary care during a stressful and uncertain labor experience. We’re proud to celebrate Dr. Giora Netzer, Vice President and Chief Experience Officer, for being named one of Becker's Healthcare's 2025 “Hospital and Health System CXOs to Know.” Since stepping into this inaugural role in 2022, Dr. Netzer has transformed how we think about experience, elevating it as a systemwide priority tied directly to quality, safety, and equity. Under his leadership, we’ve launched our first universal skills training program, created a shared vision for patient experience, and achieved an $11 million reduction in HCAHPS-related penalties. From interdisciplinary bedside rounding to implementing a family presence policy and equity-focused initiatives to reduce disparities.
