For Mark Dais, a patient at Unity Health Care’s East of the River Health Center, a visit to the doctor means more than a check-up. It means going home with fresh produce, healthy pantry staples, and new ideas for cooking balanced meals. Through our partnership with Unity Health Care, the on-site food pharmacy helps neighbors like Mark manage diabetes and kidney disease with nutritious food they can’t always find or afford at nearby stores. And it’s making a real difference. Mark’s feeling better, moving more, and staying energized for what matters most. “It gives me something good for my body,” he says. Thanks to partnerships like this one, more neighbors across the region are finding out what’s possible when healthy food and health care come together.
