As NOLA Water Week draws to a close, we honor the strength of this city and the power of water to connect, heal, and inspire. Twenty years after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans is reflecting on its water story and building momentum toward a vibrant future. This week, members and partners joined to celebrate the inaugural NOLA Water Week — a series of events, screenings, and discussions that highlighted community, healing, and joy. Special shout-out to the hard work and dedication of many of our members and partners in making this week happen — especially the Water Collaborative, PolicyLink, and Liquid I.V. — and a huge round of applause for the local leaders that brought NOLA Water Week to life! There are still a few events on the schedule this weekend you won't want to miss, including: 🌱 Don’t Water It Down LIVE (HAPPENING TONIGHT! Friday, Aug 29) — an unfiltered conversation on Sankofa and the legacy of Katrina, at Common House. 🍉 WATERMelon Festival (Sunday, Aug 31) — family-friendly fun with music, food, and a watermelon patch at Ruby Slipper (Broad St.). https://lnkd.in/gz2qhmYa

How do we tackle climate change, improve water quality, and restore soil health—all at once? The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District’s Yahara Watershed Improvement Network (Yahara WINS), shows us how. Through One Water partnerships, regenerative land practices, and net-zero strategies, communities in south-central Wisconsin are reducing phosphorus pollution, strengthening soils, sequestering carbon, and building climate resilience. This model is a powerful example of what’s possible when utilities, municipalities, farmers, and community members come together around shared goals—and why advancing Net Zero in the water sector requires cross-sector collaboration. Read more about Yahara WINS, as told by Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District's Amy Steger, and explore all Leadership and Governance briefing papers in our Net Zero Fundamentals series. https://lnkd.in/g69PmtCY
