Please join us in welcoming Jack Burger, a physician assistant at ValleyOrtho and at After Hours Urgent Care. He earned his physician assistant degree from Colorado Mesa University. Prior to joining Valley View, Jack was a physician assistant in cardiothoracic surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. At Valley View he works with Dr. Daniel O’Connor and has specific interest in orthopedic revision surgery, and helping patients find solutions for their injuries. A longtime Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol and EMT member, Jack has seen his share of acute orthopedic injuries. “With my job on the hill and in the clinic at ValleyOrtho, it’s great to see the full continuum of care,” he says. “I see those patients on the hill, in the clinic and even through surgery.” When working with patients, Jack prioritizes listening and showing empathy and compassion for those in need of his care. “Many of my patients are going through a hard time,” he says. “I’m a very active person myself and so are the patients at ValleyOrtho. I understand the frustration that an injury can bring. I want to get them back to their previous activity level, whether that’s high-level athletic achievement or getting them back to simply enjoying the Roaring Fork Valley.” Originally from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Jack has been in the Roaring Fork Valley since 2017. Outside of work Jack enjoys skiing, running, playing tennis and spends his time volunteering for the Buddy Program.
