We’re making exciting progress on the new 157,325 SF College of the Mainland, Library & Learning Center! To support the new facilities’ large footprint, our project team installed 575 aggregate piers, 15–25 feet deep, to support the concrete footings, foundation, and help prevent soil settlement. The new Houston Methodist Hospital, Centennial Tower has topped out! Over 1,300 representatives from Vaughn, Houston Methodist, Jacobs, Page, Walter P Moore, Affiliated Engineers, Inc., and trade partners enjoyed a barbeque lunch to celebrate their hard work. The 1.3 million SF Centennial Tower, for which Vaughn serves as construction manager-at-risk, stands as one of the largest and most complex healthcare facilities in the region. The 26-story hospital tower will include an emergency department, operating rooms, four (4) levels of various imaging modalities, and patient bed floors. The Texas A&M University Space Institute is taking shape! The central spine is going vertical, and the Moon and Mars landscapes (each larger than two football fields) are taking shape. Our team continues to prepare the surrounding site for the steel structures that will bring these extraterrestrial environments to life. The 400,000 SF facility, located at NASA Johnson Space Center’s Exploration Park in Houston, is designed to train future astronauts, drive innovation in space technology, and inspire the next generation of aerospace professionals.
