I'm proud to share that VCBO Architecture has been ranked the #1 architectural firm in Utah by Utah Construction & Design Magazine for 2025 — marking a continuation of our leadership and excellence in the region. This honor is a direct reflection of our 130+ team members — the people who bring our projects to life every day with creativity, skill, and dedication. Maintaining our standing at the top can be attributed to steady, purposeful growth and our deep roots in the communities we serve.

  • Progress continues on the North Capitol Building in Salt Lake City, a landmark project set for completion by early 2026. With the granite exterior largely in place, interior work has shifted focus to the main lobby. Marble is currently being installed across floors, walls, and the sweeping semi-spiral staircase — a central feature beginning to define the space. Above the lobby, the stained glass skylight is now complete. Measuring 25 by 25 feet and composed of more than 14,000 individual glass pieces, the laylight incorporates imagery and materials from all 29 Utah counties. It celebrates our state's natural diversity, visually referencing Utah's four ecosystems and enduring symbols like the sego lily, honeybee, and California gull. Once finished, the North Capitol Building will provide modern spaces for government functions and civic gatherings while serving as a dignified gateway to the Capitol complex — and a celebration of Utah's rich heritage. Special thanks to the Capitol Preservation Board, Okland Construction, and all of our incredible partners who are helping bring this monumental project to life. It's an honor to continue our decades-long presence on Capitol Hill, contributing to a legacy that reflects both the civic identity and future of our state. #StateCapitol #CivicDesign #NeoclassicalArchitecture #PublicArchitecture #VCBOArchitects

  • A thoughtful note from Governor Cox on the care and craftsmanship behind the North Capitol Building. It’s been a privilege to work alongside an outstanding team on the design and construction of this landmark project — a facility created to honor Utah’s past and inspire its future. #Utah #CivicDesign #VCBOArchitects

Utah’s story is getting a permanent home inside the new North Capitol Building. The Museum of Utah will guide visitors through our history and heritage, highlighting the ideas, achievements, and values that continue to shape our state. It was amazing to see the care and craftsmanship going into this project.

  • Standing as a civic landmark for southern Utah, the St. George Fifth District Courthouse remains one of our cornerstone projects. Located on historic Tabernacle Street, the 93,000-square-foot, three-story building was designed to support the operational needs of the state judiciary while honoring the region’s distinctive culture and landscape. The courthouse includes eight fully equipped courtrooms and incorporates modern security and technology throughout. Its architecture draws from traditional forms and local materials, complementing St. George’s signature red sandstone surroundings and reinforcing a strong civic identity. The building’s exterior connects directly to the planned Tabernacle Street Plaza, where preserved trees and thoughtfully designed public space create a welcoming and functional destination for courthouse visitors and staff. We’re proud to have shaped a space that serves the public with dignity and reflects the character of its community. #CivicArchitecture #JudicialDesign #PublicDesign #UtahCourts #StGeorgeUT #VCBOArchitects

  • The Fullmer Legacy Center in South Jordan is now complete and open to the public! Designed to serve the community through the positive impact of sports and recreation, we are proud to have been a part of this meaningful project. Celebrating the legacy of the Fullmer brothers, the center serves as a new home for the Fullmer Legacy Foundation's community boxing programs that offer youth and adults a safe, supportive space to strengthen physical and emotional well-being through the character-building sport of boxing. Offered at no cost to participants, the center’s programs build leadership, connection, and resilience — one round at a time. We’re honored to support this mission and to design spaces that help communities grow stronger together. #CommunityDesign #SportsDesign #Impact #FullmerBrothers #VCBOArchitects

  • We recently joined Alpine School District and Hogan & Associates Construction to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new high school in Saratoga Springs—a significant investment in one of Utah’s fastest-growing communities and a bold step toward the future of public education. This three-story, 400,000-square-foot facility will serve students within the Westlake and Cedar Valley boundaries. Designed to support long-term growth, the school will feature future-ready learning environments, community-centered spaces, and an engaging campus that supports both academic and social development. The new high school, scheduled to open in the fall of 2028, represents a lasting commitment to educational excellence and student success. #VCBOArchitects #CommunityDesign #K12Architecture #UtahEducation #SchoolDesign

  • Last week, our team came together for a shared purpose: to assemble more than 400 pantry packs for students in the Davis School District — helping address child food insecurity during the summer months when school-based meal programs may not be available. Thanks to the collective generosity of VCBO team members, who donated all of the food and supplies, we filled each pack with kid-friendly, easy-to-enjoy items meant to help bridge the nutrition gap that can appear over summer break. In addition to the completed packs, our team also gathered extra boxes of snacks and macaroni and cheese to extend our support even further. We’re grateful to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and care to this effort — a reflection of our commitment to serving the communities where we live and work. #CommunityImpact #PantryPacks #CommunityService #VCBOArchitects

Today, our VCBO team came together to make a difference for Davis School District students. Through generous donations and a lot of teamwork, we assembled more than 400 Pantry Packs filled with kid-friendly food items. These packs help ensure students have meals outside of school—and we’re proud to support this important cause. A huge shout-out to everyone who donated and participated. Your compassion and community spirit are what make VCBO Architecture strong.
