You're looking at the future of construction! Last month, Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) Career Technical Education (CTE) students in the Building & Construction Trades summer program gathered at Cypress Mandela, Inc. for OUSD's Skilled Trades Fair. Students explored the world of construction through hands-on work stations, tool/equipment demos, and one-on-one conversations with craft professionals like Webcor Concrete Construction Manager Ivan Ramos and Specialist Alberto Vasquez. All students who complete the six-week program are guaranteed placement in Cypress Mandela's 16-week pre-apprenticeship program, creating a local pipeline to skilled trades that begins in high school. Our industry's continued support of workforce development programs has never been more vital. These programs offer accessible pathways to long-term careers in construction by connecting students with the technical skills, mentorship, and confidence needed to start the process. An investment of our time and resources in these programs is an investment in our industry's future leaders! Emiliano Sanchez Sharla Sullivan, CCA #WhyWebcor

This year's Intern Competition did not disappoint! Over the course of three days, nearly 50 Webcor interns across nine teams tackled construction challenges ranging from prefabrication inspections to layout exercises to scheduling and estimating tasks before presenting their solutions and strategies to our intern managers and executives. Members of each winning team took home their own power drills courtesy of White Cap! We finished the week with an intern appreciation lunch in San Francisco, where all our interns across NorCal and SoCal had gathered for the competition for the first time. Many thanks to all our 2025 interns for bringing so much enthusiasm, collaboration, and innovative thinking to this year's competition, to our intern managers for spearheading the entire event, and to Hilti Group and Milwaukee Tool for leading the tool demonstrations! #WhyWebcor 📷 : Webcor Marketing Specialist Brandon Blum

With the installation of the second Wolff 1250B tower crane, The UCSF Health Helen Diller Hospital project became the first in North America to operate two of these cranes, of which only 10 exist. These are some of the largest free-standing cranes in the world. These massive cranes were selected based on their ability to hoist columns that routinely weight more than 60,000 pounds, 28,000 less than the cranes' maximum capacity. The video features the first crane installed being used to install the second back in May. We were honored to join LA Mayor Karen Bass for a press conference celebrating the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) program! This fully funded initiative prioritizes small, local and minority-owned businesses throughout LA, including some of our partners from Hollywood Park and Cosm. In addition to Webcor’s participation in the MATOC, we are grateful to be partnering with so many incredible diverse businesses on the D/B LAX Wayfinding Enhancement Program (WEP), an exciting project that will help visitors navigate LAX more easily and efficiently. Many thanks to Webcor VP Charles Chiparo and Design/Project Manager April Chang for representing at this celebratory event! 📷: Courtesy of Los Angeles World Airports

We had a blast welcoming our summer interns and ACE Mentor Program of America externs to Webcor! This year, we hosted our Intern Welcome Event and ERG (employee resource group) Rush at Tunnel Tops in San Francisco and Lucky Strike in downtown LA. Interns/externs across all projects/departments spent the afternoon getting to know one another, connecting with Webcor leaders, and learning about our five ERGs—Women of Webcor, The Collective (Black ERG), Fuerza (Latinx ERG), Webcor Q&A (LGBTQ+ ERG), and Webcor APAC (AAPI ERG), open to all Webcorians—over food, drinks, and games. Many thanks to our amazing intern managers and ERG leaders for organizing this fantastic event! #WhyWebcor
