My wife and I took a break between teaching my Electric Vehicle Boot Camps to drive our Tesla Cybertruck up to Francis Peak, Utah, at 9,175 feet (2,798 meters), a 5,000-foot (1,524-meter) elevation increase from the valley floor. We used 1000 Wh per mile and 18 percent of the battery driving up the mountain with a 6- to 7-degree incline, and gained 3 percent coming down. It was a lot of fun, and the truck performed very well.

🏆 Proud to Support SkillsUSA Utah – Automotive Competition Today I’m honored to be part of the SkillsUSA Utah Automotive competition, where students from across the state are putting their skills to the test and competing for the top spot in automotive technology. At my station, students are using the Magnetic Mat Training System (MMTS)—a hands-on electrical diagnostic tool I developed for use in Weber State University's Automotive Technology program. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the system being used in a real-world competition setting to evaluate critical diagnostic skills. The talent and determination these students bring is exactly what our industry and economy need. As cars become more complex, the demand for skilled automotive technicians is only growing. 👨🔧 How many people still think they can fix their own car? The reality is, today’s vehicles require advanced knowledge, training, and tools—and that’s exactly what these students are developing through Career and Technical Education (CTE). Let’s continue to support and celebrate the next generation of technicians! #SkillsUSA #CTE #AutomotiveTechnology #MMTS #SkilledTrades #ElectricalDiagnostics #AutomotiveEducation #SupportCTE #TechEd #SkillsUSAUtah #WeberAuto
