"The first year of the YNHHS Administrative Fellowship taught me that leadership is built through immersion—rotating across departments, managing high-impact projects, and learning to adapt quickly to new challenges. From strategic planning to clinical operations, each rotation and project sharpened my ability to think systemically, communicate effectively, and contribute meaningfully to patient-centered care delivery." Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital wishes Fairfield National Little League the best of luck in their U.S. Championship game tomorrow as part of the Little League World Series. Recently Sara Taxiltaridis, mom of players S.J. and Jimmy, talked with CT Insider about her “miracle babies.” She shared the story of how at 20 weeks in-utero the twins received lifesaving surgery through the Fetal Care Center for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. The syndrome occurs within the womb where there is an uneven blood flow between developing identical twins who share the same placenta. Now, at 12 years old, these “miracle babies” are healthy, amazing athletes helping lead their team toward the U.S. Championship. Good luck to the team! #FetalCareCenter Little League International http://ynh.care/Qx

"I pursued a fellowship at Yale New Haven Health to join a community that’s deeply committed to patient-centered innovation. The opportunity to work directly with our current CEO and other C-Suite leaders while contributing to meaningful healthcare improvements was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. The program’s emphasis on mentorship, innovation, and system-wide collaboration offered the perfect environment to grow as a healthcare leader committed to shaping the future of care delivery." Different kinds of bacteria can be found in the water at local beaches, and some are more dangerous than others. Following a few precautions can help keep vulnerable populations safe. In Connecticut, water is regularly tested for potentially harmful bacteria, which typically includes E. coli and Enterococcus. “There are a lot of conditions that lead to bacteria getting in the water,” said Yale New Haven Hospital Infectious Disease specialist Scott Roberts, MD, assistant professor in infectious diseases at Yale School of Medicine. “Warmer temperatures facilitate the growth of bacteria. The other thing is the currents. If the water is stagnant, you're going to see build-up there as well.” http://ynh.care/Qk
