Young people's use of generative AI has doubled in just one year. What does this mean for literacy? Critical and digital literacy skills are increasingly important but can the education system keep up? Our latest research shows that many young people believe that AI can support their reading, writing, learning and creativity but a third of teachers worry about the impact on students' literacy. We also explored teachers' use of AI and found that whilst half agree that it could help with assessment, less than 5% are using it for this purpose and only 1 in 10 teachers say their school has an AI policy. We must now bring together educators, policy makers and business leaders to redefine what literacy means in our new technological world. Read more in our blog ⤵
