During the few days I spent in Tonga, I had a front row seat to how people in this Pacific island nation have to endure the devastating impacts of the climate crisis on a regular basis. Torrential rains and flash floods. Rising sea levels forcing families to relocate and start over. Others living with the fear of when it will be their turn to move, or how they will provide for their loved ones when their houses are swept away. The people of the Pacific islands are resilient and determined, but they need our help. And because surging seas threaten coastal areas around the world, they are not the only ones affected by this entirely human-made problem. The world must take #ClimateAction now, before it is too late.
Tout à fait...et nous ne faisons toujours rien d'ailleurs...rien n'a changé , sauf le climat...
To António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and to all members of the United Nations #unga : Hear the word of the Almighty God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the Most High: The rising seas and climate crises you witness are more than environmental challenges; they are divine warnings. Psalm 89:8-9 reminds us that the Lord has control over the seas and their tumult, emphasizing His supreme authority to still them. Matthew 8:23-27 illustrates Jesus calming the storm, showcasing His power over nature and calling for faith amidst fear. These natural disasters signal a need for repentance and faith in His guidance. Isaiah 45:21-22 calls all to recognize the Lord as the only God and seek His salvation. Proverbs 30:4-5 affirms His creation and the purity of His words, which offer protection to those who trust Him. Psalm 2:7-11 urges leaders to serve the Lord with reverence and joy, acknowledging His ultimate authority. Revelation 1:7-8 reveals that the Lord is the Alpha and Omega, governing all things. ... ...
PLEASE HELP save Humanity w/ the nomination of the UN's #AntonioGuterres for the 2024 Nobel Prize He is the only leader/person who can help save the world especially due to his unique worldwide194-country reach w/ messages to all UN's agencies to promote #climateaction The #climatecrisis is much worse than the general public imagines, we are on track to severely damage our civilization, including you & family No other single individual, despite the scientific or political prominence has such a non-partisan power, so we "climate defenders" need to join forces around & support him With a Nobel Prize his speeches & texts will stand out more around the world and will also have a greater impact and motivation for worldwide individuals to press their local leaders for true actions We have to expand/ improve our tactics from expecting the decisions to come from above (top leaders down) to pressure them from the bottom up (individuals) Please read my article: http://www.linkedin.com/pulse/nobel-peace-prize-2024-uns-antonio-guterres-worldwide-luiz-antonio-xjjqf/?trackingId=Eivw7JY8RMKNVrKACN3i6Q%3D%3D Note: For the Nobel Prize Academy in Sweeden, safeguarding Climate Change includes a Noble PEACE Prize (like Al Gore won in 2007)

It's always striking to see the uselessness of such trips / visits / travelling, with no real impact, no results.. It makes no difference other than add to the carbon footprint generated by unnecessary trips. Send experts, scientists, engineers to assess and draw up concrete measures roadmaps, that the higher officials will have to push into act. Exclusive holidays in the Pacific with Instagram-like posts are only making things worse...
Sadly it is low-lying islands that will be the first to feel the worst effects of the ongoing climate crisis. It is in our hands now to do everything we can to ensure that we don't let this situation get out of control. Businesses, governments and individuals must all do their bit to help us achieve a more sustainable world as soon as possible.
