As we take a moment this season to reflect on what we’re thankful for, we’re excited to share our United in Tearing the Paper Ceiling video, highlighting the powerful impact of the #TearthePaperCeiling campaign and how employers can join us and play a pivotal role in the skills-first hiring movement.
A special thank you to Patti Constantakis, Director of Corporate Philanthropy at Walmart.org, Fred Goff, CEO of Jobcase, Inc., Elisabeth Voigt, Senior Manager of Social Impact at Indeed and Amy Volz, Head of Workforce Innovation at Trane Technologies, for sharing their reflections on the value of the Coalition and how the collective efforts of our partners are working to drive meaningful progress and change for STARs.
We also want to extend our gratitude to the 75+ Tear the Paper Ceiling Coalition partners who have signed on to advance skills-first hiring.
As we look ahead to 2025, we’re excited to continue the momentum and welcome more organizations to join us in breaking down barriers and opening up opportunities and pathways for STARs!
The Tear the paper sealing campaign is really shining a spotlight on this broken part of the labor market and bringing it into the public consciousness. We've seen employers start to make practice change. With more and more employers dropping degree requirements, We're seeing jobs opening up for stars. We have a chance for serious, sustainable, lasting change and impact for workers in this country. Next is for us to collectively take action. Joining the tear. The Paper Ceiling Coalition is very important for America's leading companies with the movement for skills first, hiring, gathering speed and force. Companies that embrace the full range of talents are going to be the leaders in this innovation economy. So the role of the Tear of the Paper Ceiling Coalition is an accelerant. Our partners have access to creative assets, to storytelling, to the Tear the Paper Ceiling framing. It's important that we all speak with one voice around stars, around skills, and the Tear the Paper Ceiling Coalition helped get us all working in harmony. In joining Tear the Paper Ceiling, you have access to cutting edge tools to really tap into all the talents in this country and you can see by whatever geography and. Any group of people where there's talent you're missing and how you can bring that talent to your company or your supply chains or beyond. This coalition is really important for us to learn from others, to share our practices with others. We've got employers from tech, from retail, from manufacturing. We've Got Talent developers. We need all of these different perspectives to make a strong coalition. The thing I love the most about the Tear the Paper Ceiling coalition is being at the table with other companies, other organizations, other people who feel really passionately about fundamentally changing the way that we hire, the way that we bring people into opportunities. It's a place to tinker, it's a place to innovate. It's a place to problem solve together, place where partners can be known as thought leaders, as inclusive employers, and shout that from the rooftops. Because those successes, even if they're small, help everybody get better at Skills First Hiring. Now is the time to join the coalition. Our goal is to generate a $20 billion wage gain for stars by 20-30. We invite you to consider how you can tear the paper ceiling. Joined the Coalition today.
