From aged care to chicken welfare to workforce futures — one message rang clear across the panel: the real challenge isn’t the work itself, it’s helping others see its value. Edge’s Global Client Director of Experience, Max Van Biene GAICD, guest-hosted the Leaders In Sustainability Network event last week, where a room full of professionals gathered to reflect on the realities of delivering sustainability in complex organisations. The conversation surfaced a tough but familiar truth: sustainability doesn’t get attention until it becomes a tangible business risk. And even then, the word “sustainability” often doesn’t cut through. It has to be framed as impact, risk, or value creation. The room was full of the people driving that change — the ones behind the dashboards, the disclosures, the cultural shifts. What stood out? It's a strange and demanding time to work in sustainability. That’s why spaces like this matter, to connect, reflect, and remind ourselves we’re not doing it alone. Big thanks to the brilliant panel: Helen Spoor (Estia Health), Phil Senn (Inghams Group Limited), and Daniel Moussa (Talesca) for sharing such grounded and insightful perspectives. And to Kiarne Treacy and the entire Sustainable Choice Group team for creating the space to have these important conversations. . . . #sustainablebusiness #sustainabilityleaders Greenhouse
