Because of the Oil and Gas sector, Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland hasn’t needed anything else economically for the last 40 years. That’s created a total misunderstanding and lack of apppreciation for how incredible the region is You can have world-class beaches, the Cairngorms, castles, golf, whisky, great schools, and incredibly safe communities, all within easy reach, and without the overcrowding and expense you get elsewhere I’d go as far as to say the North East of Scotland is the most underrated place in the UK to live, raise kids, and access nature and on a £ for £ basis, it’s probably the best place in the UK to live today And because of how great it is here, and how much of a hidden gem it is, we’re missing a massive opportunity I’d bet it’s possible to build a very large software or hardware company here, both because of the world class talent that’s already here, and because of the world-class talent that would move here if they had the chance to see how incredible it is
