Experts in stroke, digital technology and the Irish healthcare system were interviewed in order to gather reliable insights into the research. First, an understanding had to be made of what eHealth is, its benefits and barriers to implementation, and why Ireland has been slow to adopt this model of healthcare. Second, an analysis of the current Irish stroke…
In this study, it is shown that digital technology has the potential to disrupt the current delivery pathway of stroke care in Ireland. Experts in stroke, digital technology and the Irish healthcare system were interviewed in order to gather reliable insights into the research. First, an understanding had to be made of what eHealth is, its benefits and barriers to implementation, and why Ireland has been slow to adopt this model of healthcare. Second, an analysis of the current Irish stroke care pathway was necessary in order to uncover unmet needs.
