“I managed Pascal during his secondment with the ECB, in which he successfully led a team of professionals across the EU, supervising liquidity and interest rate risk of one of Europe's largest banks. Thanks to his professionalism, leadership and technical expertise, significant improvements in risk management practices were made at the supervised institution. Pascal spearheaded several initiatives to improve supervisory practices, such as increasing collaboration between the ECB's risk management experts, developing and leading an acclaimed case study into liquidity risk, etc. Further, Pascal was instrumental in setting up the ECB's climate risk management function, by drafting parts of the ECB's guidance on climate and environmental risk; leading assessments of banks' climate risk practices; setting supervisory strategy on climate risk management; and teaching fellow examiners about climate risk.
