“I got to know Ulugbek at EPFL when he started the PhD program at the Biomedical Imaging Group and soon we started to collaborate which resulted in many scientific papers. Here, I would like to share some of my impressions about him. Ulugbek is a super well-organized person. He tries to set himself some goals and focuses on achieving them. He chooses the most optimal goal based on his strengths and becomes a machine in achieving those goals; nothing can stop him. He is both very hardworking and efficient in time management. He used to spend a lot of hours at the office, while in parallel he had a huge network of friends and social life (almost everyone at EPFL knew him), he attended gym to stay fit and kept himself updated of the news. Even from the beginning it was obvious that he is going to do a remarkable thesis. At times, he was publishing a journal paper every two months. I specially enjoyed collaborating with him. Ulugbek is a wonderful team-member and frequently initiates a joint work. The best part is that he has a good understanding of his strength and that of other team-members. So, whenever I did something with him, I was doing the part that I was good at. In summary, if I were to describe him in some words, I would say: motivated, efficient with time, hardworking, team-member and fun.”
