Job Description: Manager of Accounting (CPA Required)

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager of Accounting to lead the technical accounting functions of our organization. Reporting to the senior leadership, this role will serve as a subject matter expert in complex accounting matters, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and other regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a CPA designation, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of success in technical accounting, financial reporting, and project management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Accounting Expertise:
  • Serve as the organization’s primary resource on technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and other complex areas such as stock-based compensation, derivatives, and fair value measurement.
  • Financial Reporting Support:
  • Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, if applicable.
  • Policy Development:
  • Establish and maintain corporate accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistent adoption and compliance across the organization.
  • Audit Coordination:
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors during audits, providing technical guidance, supporting documentation, and resolution of complex issues.
  • Team Training & Mentorship:
  • Upskill and reskill the accounting team by providing technical knowledge-sharing sessions or training on new accounting standards or policies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with finance, operations, and executive leadership to implement and oversee technical accounting processes and controls for new business initiatives or strategic projects.
  • Contract Talent and Managed Services:
  • Collaborate with external skilled contract talent or managed services, as necessary, to address critical technical accounting needs during peak times or when specialized expertise is required.
  • Stay Current on Regulations:
  • Monitor and evaluate the potential impact of emerging accounting standards and industry-specific regulations, providing timely updates to leadership.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA): Required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including prior experience in public accounting.
  • Exceptional knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting standards, and the implementation of new technical accounting guidelines.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and developing teams.
