JOB PURPOSE:
The Accounting Manager oversees all financial and accounting functions for the US branches. This role ensures compliance with US regulations, delivers accurate financial reporting, and maintains robust internal controls. Acting as a key liaison between the US branches and global headquarters, the Accounting Manager supports the company’s strategic financial goals and operational growth.
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
Provides direction and oversight on daily accounting tasks, month-end closings, payroll processing, and compliance reporting.
Reviews and approves work completed by accounting staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Accounting Manager role covers the establishment, management, and continuous improvement of the finance and accounting functions for the US branches. The scope includes financial reporting, internal controls, compliance with federal and state regulations, payroll oversight, and coordination with the global finance team. The role requires frequent communication with HQ in Israel and collaboration with US-based operations, procurement, and HR teams.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Financial Management and Reporting
Oversee daily accounting operations (general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll).
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Develop financial reports tailored to the needs of HQ and consolidate US data accurately.
Ensure accurate processing of vendor payments and act as the Accounts Payable POC.
Payroll Oversight
Generate payroll reports, conduct audits, and track labor costs, overtime, and salary changes.
Calculate and oversee pension/401(k) contributions and union-related payments.
Ensure payroll compliance with federal and state labor laws.
Compliance and Controls
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales tax.
Act as the POC for year-end audits, ensuring accurate and timely submission of financial data.
Manage business licenses, certifications, and insurance renewals.
Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
Financial Analysis and Strategy
Provide insights through financial analysis, including cost analysis, profitability assessments, and pricing strategies.
Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to monitor costs and recommend improvements.
Facilitate the setup and approval of credit terms for new vendors.
Coordination with Headquarters
Serve as the primary liaison between the US branches and global finance teams.
Participate in monthly and quarterly financial reviews with HQ.
Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis to support global finance initiatives.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, warehouse management, or supply chain roles.
Proven experience in managing procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and inventory control.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in using procurement and inventory management software.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
Additional Skills: Strong negotiation skills, knowledge of food safety regulations, and ability to adapt to changing client requirements.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
A master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA) is preferred but not mandatory
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is highly desirable.CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is a plus.
