My client is a fast-growing healthcare company headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area with a need for a Payroll Manager Accounting proficient in Workday. The Payroll Manager Accounting will supervise the employee payroll accounting including taxes, general ledger postings, process improvements, and work with Human Resources and Accounting to prepare reports and ensuring accuracy and compliance with local and federal laws. The Payroll Manager must have supervising experience and experience with Workday is a plus. Payroll professionals with their CPP and strong accounting background are highly encouraged to apply. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for the following:

- Supervisor and manage the accounting for employee payroll

- Oversee taxes, ensuring reports are accurate

- Review and post payroll journal entries, prepare manual entries as needed

- Manage the updating and employee change status for benefits, 401k, and other deductions

–Review and post payroll journal entries, prepare manual entries as needed

-Calculate manual net/gross and tax withholdings

-Performance reviews of staff and training

-Process wage garnishments and tax liens

-Reconcile and balance payroll account and prep for Audits

Requirements:

5+ year of payroll accounting experience

Workday is preferred

Strong background in payroll taxes and accounting

System Implementation experience

Proficient in MS Excel

CPP is highly preferred
