Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer in Athens, GA. The work will be done onsite 5 days/week (Monday - Friday from 7AM to 4PM). This is a long-term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $28/hr W2 + full benefits, vision, dental, health insurance, 401K and holiday pay.
Our customer is the largest manufacturer of construction equipment in the world.
Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Athens, GA. In this role, you will work both independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in product manufacturing. You will analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures, training and equipment needs based on requirements, as well as analysis and make recommendations for engineering product designs.
What you can look forward to doing in this role:
- Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes to support management decisions.
- Design / direct the acquisition, design, fabrication and repair of all necessary tooling and machines.
- Troubleshoots day-to-day process issues, develops solutions, and monitors improvements.
- Monitor all exchange and in-house requirements.
- Procure material related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers.
- Perform quality checks on machines.
- Analyze and deploys engineering change notices.
- Establish and maintain bill of materials and work orders.
- Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements; and
- Provide day-to-day coaching duties in absence of team leader.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Work involving some design and specification, seeking quote for designs.
- Implementing work instruction via SAP M.E.
- Validating work changes to workflow areas
- KEY Projects for assembly
- CAD layout proposals
Typical task breakdown:
- Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes to support management decisions.
- Design / direct the acquisition, design, fabrication and repair of all necessary tooling and machines.

- Monitor all exchange and in-house requirements.

- Daily, working in group environment in an office setting
Work environment:
- Normal Office environment and daily team meetings
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an engineering technology or minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering shop floor experience - Work would include process improvements, cycle time, rebalancing of work, tooling corrections, etc.
Technical Skills

- Prior experience working in AutoCAD or similar 3D modeling software

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple departments simultaneously
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience creating and maintaining routings in ERP systems.
- Experience in conducting time studies
- Experience identifying and developing solutions to Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost issues in a shop floor environment.
- Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
